Small Miracles Foundation promotes music lessons

The Small Miracles Foundation of Princeton is seeking volunteers to meet a range of needs, from young pianists willing to teach beginners to donors of professional expertise in promotion and fund-raising, as well as donors of pianos in good repair and of financial resources.
The foundation is planning to give its first benefit concert in the spring.
The nonprofit Small Miracles Foundation has provided free music lessons to central New Jersey students for nine years. The foundation also arranges for discounted and free rentals of instruments. Members of the community often donate pianos for use by the students of Small Miracles.
A crucial aspect of the organization is its faculty — high school students who volunteer their time and teach weekly lessons. The students have come from Princeton High School, the West Windsor-Plainsboro high schools and The Lawrenceville School.
Robert Murray Diefendorf, Small Miracles’ founder and president, teaches piano at Westminster Conservatory and helps the foundation’s young instructors hone their pedagogical skills.
The foundation can be reached by calling Mr. Diefendorf at (609) 439-1915 and by e-mail, [email protected].
