Joseph A. Stevenson
Joseph A. Stevenson, 83, of Hightstown, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, at the University Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Atlantic City, he was a longtime resident of Central New Jersey before recently moving to Hightstown. He is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Guadalcanal and South Pacific. Mr. Stevenson retired as a chemist for Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church in Hightstown, the VFW, DAV and the American Legion.
A son, James Denney Stevenson, and a brother, Alan A. Stevenson, are deceased. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dana (Hughes) Stevenson; a son and daughter-in-law, Peter A. and Margarita Stevenson; two grandsons, Michael A. Stevenson and Juan Medina; a brother, William A.
Stevenson; and his nieces and nephews, Pamela Stevenson Casserly, Pamela Rainsford Langford, Christopher, Robert, Mark, Theresa, Linda, Sharon and Alan Stevenson.
A memorial mass will be today (Friday), Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 251 Maxwell Avenue, Hightstown, N.J. 08520.
Internment will follow in the Church of the Assumption Church Cemetery, New Egypt. Arrangements are under the direction of A.S. Cole Son & Co. Funeral Home, 22 North Main St., Cranbury, N.J. 08512.
