Women’s class
Thursday, Jan. 20 Moorestown resident Arlita Winston, Bible study teacher, will be the speaker for a women’s class at 7:30 p.m. at the Fountain of Life Center, 2035 Columbus Road, Florence Township.

Trash or treasure
Friday, Jan. 21 and Saturday, Jan. 22 Trinity United Methodist Church’s monthly sale will be held on the second floor of the education building, 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Valentine and Easter items, electrical appliances, games, and stuffed animals will be featured.
Sauerkraut dinner
Saturday, Jan. 22 The Jacksonville Presbyterian Church will hold its annual homemade sauerkraut and pork dinner at the Jacksonville Community Center, Jacksonville-Jobstown Road, next to the firehouse.
Prices are $13 for adults and $5 for children younger than 12. Reservations are required. Call Doris Nelson at 298-5956 for details. There will be half-hour seatings between 4:30 and 7 p.m.
Muffins on Main Street
Saturday, Jan. 22 The Roebling Centennial Committee will hold its second "Muffins on Main Street" from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Roebling Auditorium, adjacent to the Roebling Firehouse, Seventh Avenue and Main Street, Roebling, and the public is invited. Muffins and refreshments will be served.
Many events are planned for its second social gathering of the centennial year. Historians from Mount Holly will help people research the previous owners of their homes. This is of particular interest to the newer homeowners in Roebling.
There will be an exhibit from Civil War historians (Washington A. Roebling, brother of Charles G. Roebling, was a colonel for the Union Army in the Civil War). Also scheduled are representatives from the Air Victory Museum. A local favorite, Mary Arnold Montalto, will show her "Bridal Books." Mrs. Montalto has collected newspaper clippings of wedding announcements of Roebling residents for many years. Dr. Carol Shaffer, whose father was the proprietor of the Roebling General Store, will be there to show some of the General Store favorites.
Also scheduled is jewelry appraiser, Gloria Faust, who will appraise fine and costume jewelry. Fee is $10 for up to three items and the proceeds will go toward centennial events. Orders for the centennial commemorative blanket will be taken and super 50/50 raffle tickets will be sold.
Veterans’ meeting
Saturday, Jan. 22 The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter New Jersey 899 regular monthly meeting will be held at 1 p.m. at the Bordentown Township Senior/Community Center building next to the municipal complex.

Baseball/softball registration
Saturday, Jan. 22 Registration for the 2005 Bordentown Little League baseball and softball season will continue at the Carslake Community Center from 10 a.m. to noon. Call John Kent at 291-0068 with questions.

Thursday, Jan. 27 Family Movie Night at Trinity Untied Methodist Church, 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. for $2.
Doo-wop dance
Saturday, Jan. 29 An Oldies Doo-wop Dance will be held at the American Legion Post 39, 112-124 Fourth Ave., Roebling, from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Open house
Sunday, Jan. 30 and Wednesday, Feb. 2 Holy Assumption School in Roebling welcomes the public to visit for Catholic Schools Week open house from noon to 1 p.m. (following the 10:45 a.m. family Mass) and refreshments will be served.

Art exhibit
Starting Tuesday, Feb. 1 "…Winter, A Group Show" at the Artful Deposit Gallery, 201 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown City will be held through March 5. Gallery-wide participation featuring Patrick Antonell, Michael Budden, and Cynthia Dawley.
Light refreshments will be served on Sundays during the exhibition. Gallery days are Tuesday through Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 1 to 8 p.m. Call 298-6970 for more details and directions.
Scholarships
Deadline of Tuesday, Feb. 1 Springfield Township School and Community Education Foundation Inc. is offering $500 scholarships to a graduating high school student who presently or formerly resides in the community and attended the Springfield Township School District.
The goal of the scholarship is to support youth in the post secondary educational endeavors. Applications are available from the main office of the Springfield Township School or your high school’s guidance office. Call 723-2479, ext. 811 for more details.

Mardi Gras
Friday, Feb. 4 The Mardi Gras Family Night Out Dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at Holy Assumption School’s McGrath Hall, Roebling and the family event is open to the community.

Flea market
Saturday, Feb. 5 The Friends of St. Mary’s School will hold a "Souper Flea Market" from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Mary’s School Hall and Yard in Bordentown.
Tuna salad and egg salad sandwiches, hot dogs, and soup will be featured. A large selection of articles, including clothes, will be on sale from many vendors.

Starting Monday, Feb. 7 Holy Assumption School in Roebling will hold kindergarten and pre-kindergarten registration for the 2005-06 school year from through Friday, Feb. 11 by appointment.

Chamber of Commerce
Wednesday, Feb. 9 Bordentown Area Chamber of Commerce monthly meeting will be held on at 7:30 a.m. in the patio room of Mastoris and the public is invited.

Chinese Auction
Friday, March 4 The Columbus Home and School Association will sponsor the annual Chinese Auction at the Northern Burlington Regional High School cafeteria. Doors open at 6 p.m. and drawings will begin promptly at 8 p.m.
The $5 admission fee at the door includes one sheet of tickets. Refreshments will be available. More tickets will be available for purchase. No one under 18 will be admitted. Prizes include quality handmade crafts, tickets to local attractions, gift certificates to local businesses and other merchandise.
