The affordable-housing programs in Princeton Borough and Montgomery Township recently announced the availability of rental units at below-market prices.
Offered through the Somerset County Coalition on Affordable Housing, Princeton Borough has two new one-bedroom moderate-income apartments in the Witherspoon House, off Witherspoon Street. The rent is $810 per month, excluding utilities. A lottery will be held for these two units among applicants meeting income and credit criteria.
No more than two people are permitted to apply for a one-bedroom unit.
The applications, due by Feb. 28, may be obtained by contacting SCCOAH at (908) 704-8901, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
In Montgomery’s Pike Run Village, located off Route 206 in the Belle Mead area, there are one-, two- and three-bedroom rental unites available. The rents range from $803 to $1,465.
A special deal is being offered on the two- and three-bedroom moderate-income units for one month’s free rent.
The applicants must also meet income and credit criteria. For an application and the income guidelines, contact SCCOAH.
SCCOAH, based in Raritan, is a nonprofit organization that helps residents and employees of Somerset County and the surrounding areas obtain affordable housing.
