EAST WINDSOR The Township awarded a $41,043 contract last week to JH Brothers of Freehold for landscaping along Route 130.
The move is part of the township’s Route 130 beautification project, which is designed to create an attractive and uniform appearance along the corridor.
Major Janice Mironov said Tuesday that the landscaping will include the planting of trees, shrubs and flowers to aesthetically improve the corridor. She said the landscaping is funded by a $55,000 Transportation Trust Fund grant received from the state Department of Transportation in June 2003.
The landscaping will follow the DOT’s spring installation of sidewalks along the corridor. Mayor Mironov said plantings should be completed within a one-month timeframe.
The $13,957 remaining grant balance will augment a $100,000 DOT grant received earlier this month by the township. The money will fund further decorative improvements along the corridor, Mayor Mironov said.
