Beverly Elizabeth Zychowka



   WASHINGTON — Beverly Elizabeth Zychowka, 45, died Jan. 14 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
   Born and raised in Mercer County, Ms. Zychowka was a 1977 graduate of Allentown High School. She lived in Robbinsville.
   Due to a rare illness, Beverly went deaf in her early 20s. She learned to communicate with sign language and lip reading at the Katzenbach School and at St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center. She volunteered for the past 14 years at the rehabilitation center, where she made gifts for the elderly patients. She also was an active member of the Edinburg Road Chapel and an avid animal lover.
   Daughter of the late Stanley Zychowka, she is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Zychowka; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Patty Zychowka; her nieces, Stacey, Patti, and Wendi Zychowka; and her five cats, whom she considered her children, Cozie, Honey, Heidi, Mama Cat and Charlie.
   Funeral was held at Saul Colonial Home, Hamilton Square.
   Interment was in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.


Susan P. Kasoff



   PLUMSTED — Susan P. Kasoff died Jan. 17 at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick.
   Born in Los Angeles, Calif., she was a resident of New Egypt since 1991.
   She was employed as a dietary supervisor at Applegarth Care Center in Monroe Township.
   Ms. Kasoff is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Kasoff of New Egypt; and two grandchildren, Danielle and Jason King.
   Funeral was held at Tilghman Funeral Home, New Egypt.
   Interment was in Jacobstown Cemetery, Jacobstown.

Alice R. Applegate



   NEW OXFORD, Pa. — Alice R. Applegate, 93, died Jan. 21 at The Brethren Home Community, New Oxford.
   Born in Robbinsville, Ms. Applegate was a member of the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, the New Jersey Education Association and taught reading in the East Windsor School District.
   She is survived by her husband, Harold E. Applegate, and one nice and two nephews.
   A memorial service is planned for Jan. 29 at Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, Gettysburg.
   Burial will be at a later date at Brainerd Cemetery, Cranbury.
   Feiser Funeral Home, Inc., 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is handling the arrangements.
Gilbert C. deMalvilain



   ROOSEVELT — Gilbert C. "Gil" deMalvilain, 87, died Jan. 17 at home.
   Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he was raised in both France and New York City. While most of his adult life was spent in New York and New Jersey, he lived in Roosevelt the past 31 years.
   Mr. deMalvilain spent over 20 years in the military, serving in the Air Force during World War II and the Korean War and was a member of the National Guard.
   He retired in 1984 from Core Labs in Princeton, where he worked as a project engineer for 34 years. His foremost passion was being an inventor and worked on the development of economical and fuel-efficient engines.
   Mr. deMalvilain is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Annette and Doug Jonsson and Debra and Michael Adams; three grandchildren, Lola Cirullo, Marcus Savino and Victoria Adams; and a sister, Renee deMalvilain.
   Burial was in Roosevelt Cemetery, Roosevelt.
