Kudos to Lautenberg, but criticism for Corzine.

U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) showed a lot of courage and leadership Wednesday when he voted against the confirmation of Condoleezza Rice for secretary of state. Rice should have forfeited her shot at the post because of her role in crafting the long list of lies and deceptions that took us into the disastrous war in Iraq. But, alas, in this GOP epoch, accountability does not matter.
U.S. Sen. Jon Corzine (D-N.J.) said all the right things about her failures, but ultimately voted yes not a lot of courage from the man who wishes to occupy the Statehouse.
And then there is the nomination of Alberto Gonzalez for attorney general, who should be nixed by the Senate for his role in the torture scandal. Read this editorial from The Capital Times of Madison, Wisc., for a well-reasoned take on it.
Sen. Corzine should read it.
