POLICE BLOTTER

   Police responded to the YMCA on East Mountain Road on a theft report at 8:20 p.m. Jan. 20.
   The victim told police he’d left his black leather wallet, located in his right front pants pocket, in an unlocked locker at the facility at approximately 7:20 p.m.
   When he returned he found that his pants had been moved slightly and that $200 of the $252 he had in his wallet when he arrived were missing.
   There were no witnesses and the victim had no idea who committed the act.

   Firefighters from Hillsborough and Manville extinguished a car fire on Dukes Parkway East at 9:38 p.m. Jan. 22.
   According to a police report of the incident, the victim was thinking of selling a red Buick Century that he had not used for a while and had gone out to start it to see if it still worked.
   After starting it, he went back in his house and five minutes later smelled something burning.
