Curves to take over office building on Bunn Drive.

Curves, a fitness club with a "No Mirrors, No Makeup, No Men" motto, will test its muscle in Princeton Township this spring, opening in an existing office building at 256 Bunn Drive.
In a meeting Wednesday night, the Princeton Township Zoning Board of Adjustment voted to approve Curves’ new location, despite concerns over parking availability and zoning use.
Christopher Tarr, a commercial real estate lawyer from Stevens and Lee, represented the Curves application at the hearing.
"We believe there would be no negative impacts as a result of the use," Mr. Tarr told the board.
Mr. Tarr said that although several medical offices are currently housed in the building, he did not anticipate parking to be a major problem there.
"At maximum capacity, we would be one parking space short," he said.
The zoning board overlooked this shortfall in making its decision, explaining that the multi-level parking design currently in place would provide ample room for all building visitors.
The board also decided that a health club could occupy the office site under the current zoning, as a physical therapy practice previously occupied the space.
Susan DePonte, who will manage the new Curves location, described the club as a place where all women can feel at home exercising.
"This terrific location will give you privacy," she said.
With more than 8,000 franchises worldwide, Curves offers a specialized type of workout, Ms. DePonte said. "It’s a 30-minute workout, done several times a week," she said.
   "Women only," Ms. DePonte added.
The board also reorganized at Wednesday night’s meeting, reappointing Carlos Rodrigues to another term as board chairman. The board also reinstated A. Perry Morgan as vice chairman, Robert Casey as attorney and Debra Rogers as secretary. In addition, two new members, Janet Stern and Jerome Rose, were installed on the board.
