Edna V. Kusiak



   EAST WINDSOR — Edna V. Kusiak, died Jan. 20 at CentraState Medical Center in Freeehold.
   Born in Sayreville, she was a resident of East Windsor.
   Mrs. Kusiak was a nurses’ aide at Meadow Lakes.
   She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church in Hightstown.
   She enjoyed reading and her vegetable garden.
   Wife of the late Joseph S. Kusiak, she is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Carol Ann Kusiak of New Brunswick, Linda and Vincent Maciborka of Little Egg Harbor, and Karen Kusiak of East Windsor with whom she lived; one son, Lawrence Kusiak of Levittown, Pa.; one sister, Leona Palka; and five grandchildren, Michele Lynn Slover, John Slover, Kristina Kusiak, Matthew Kusiak and Courtney Kusiak.
   Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
   Arrangements are under the direction of the Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, 136 Morrison Ave., Hightstown.

Alice R. (Everett) Applegate



   NEW OXFORD, Pa. — Alice R. (Everett) Applegate, 93, of New Oxford died Jan. 21 at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford.
   Born in Robbinsville, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Gordon and Leonora (Reynolds) Everett. She was a member of Gettysburg Presbyterian Church and the New Jersey Education Association and taught reading at the elementary level in the East Windsor School District.
   She is survived by her husband, Harold E. Applegate; one niece and two nephews.
   Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. from Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, 208 Baltimore St., Gettysburg, with the Rev. Daniel T. Hans officiating.
   Burial will be at a later date at Brainerd Cemetery, Cranbury.
   Feiser Funeral Home Inc., 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, is handling the arrangements.
Elizabeth M. (Kennedy) McSweeney



   HIGHTSTOWN — Elizabeth M. (Kennedy) McSweeney, 95, died Jan. 20.
   For the first 88 years of her life, she lived in New York City.
   She retired in 1975 from Witco Chemical Co.
   Mrs. McSweeney was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and belonged to the Altar Rosary Society, the Ladies of Charity and loved the MaryKnoll Missionaries.
   She then moved to Monmouth Junction to live with her daughter, Elizabeth-Anne Kilkenny, and was an active member of the South Brunswick Senior Center. At 91, she moved to Hightstown, where she was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church and the Anthonians. At 93, Mrs. McSweeney moved to the Elms of Cranbury, where happily she lived out her last days singing, crafting and playing games.
   Wife of 41 years to the late Martin T. McSweeney, daughter of the late John W. and Anne Kennedy and sister of the late Mae, Helen, Marguerite, Anna, Lillian, William, Frank, Timothy and John, she is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth-Anne Kilkenny; two granddaughters and their husbands, Mary-Elizabeth and Robert Bielsa, and Kathryn-Anne and Christopher Cannie; five great-grandchildren, Maximilien, Manon and Angelique Bielsa and Trevor and Griffin Cannie; a sister, Catherine Beck of the Bronx, N.Y.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
   Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, Hightstown. A funeral Mass was celebrated from St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Hightstown.
   Interment followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hightstown.
Mary Pollak



   CRANBURY — Mary Pollak, 89, died Jan. 21 at the Elms of Cranbury.
   Born in New York City, Mrs. Pollack was a longtime resident of Cranbury.
   She retired from the Hightstown Rug Co. after many years. Mrs. Pollak was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Hightstown and a lifetime member of the American Czechoslovakia Farmers Club of Hightstown.
   Wife of the late John Pollak, she is survived by a sister, Anna Schwartz of Cranbury; two sisters-in-law, Christine Federowich and Nina Pollak, both of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services were held Wednesday at A.S. Cole Funeral Home, Cranbury.
   Interment followed at the Old Tennent Cemetery.
