Pauline Blinder Last
Pauline "Pearl" Blinder Last, 86, died Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Central New Jersey Jewish Home for the Aged, Somerset.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, she lived in Rahway, Westfield and Monroe before moving into the Central N.J. Jewish Home for the Aged.
Prior to retiring in 1984, she was a first- and third-grade teacher at School No. 18 in Iselin for more than 20 years. She was active in B’Nai B’rith and Deborah, and traveled extensively into her early 80s.
Her husband, I. Herbert Last, died in 1991. She is survived by her two sons, Fred B. Last and his wife, Karen, of Thorofare and James Last and his wife, Rosita, of Edison; and five grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Jonathan, Monika and Benjamin.
Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Beth Israel Cemetery Mausoleum, Woodbridge, under the direction of Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick.
