John Waverczak
Mr. Waverczak, 88, of the Avenel section of Woodbridge, died Jan. 26 at the Mary Anne Hale Pavilion of Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Perth Amboy, he had resided in Avenel for the past 45 years. Prior to retiring 26 years ago, he was employed as a truck driver for the Public Service Electric and Gas Co. (PSE&G), Sewaren, for 30 years. A U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II, he was the recipient of the Good Conduct, American Campaign and World War II Victory medals. He was a communicant of St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, Avenel; a member and past commander of the Woodbridge Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4410; and a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 5088 St. Andrews Council, Avenel. He also belonged to the Avenel Golden Circle Senior Citizens Club and Woodbridge AARP Chapter No. 3869. Mr. Waverczak was predeceased by a brother, Nicholas Waverczak. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Rosmunda Candeliere Waverczak; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosanne and Allen Egri of Avenel, and Diane and Ken Dragos of Doylestown, Pa.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary Mae Waverczak-Shipers and Virgil Shipers of East Brunswick, Olga and Nathaniel Koval of Boca Raton, Fla., and Jean Cezo of Plainsboro; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Dorothy Goerke of Fort Myers, Fla.; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Costello-Koyen Funeral Home, Avenel, followed by a funeral liturgy at St. Andrews Church. Interment took place at St. Gertrude’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Colonia section of Woodbridge. Memorial donations may be made to the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, 85 James St., Edison 08820.
Charlotte E. Lecorchick Kaminsky
Mrs. Kaminsky, 68, of South River, died Jan. 14 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by a son, Frank M. Kaminsky Jr., and three grandchildren, Nellie, Matthew and Michael. Surviving are her husband, Frank M. Kaminsky Sr.; three sons, David of the Yardville section of Hamilton, Joseph of Jackson and Daniel of South River; three daughters, Charlene Twardos of Cranbury, Debra Maldonado of South River and Cathy Zaleske of Navarre, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Sally Kaminsky of East Brunswick; her stepmother, Helen Lecorchick; seven sisters, Marlene Bender, Alma Titus, Linnea Palenzuela, Donna McKeon, Gloria Crawford, Ramona Jones and Linda Mason; nine brothers, William, Charles, Jack, Butch, Robert, Steve, Frank, Paul and Robert; and 21 grandchildren. Services were held at Maliszewski Funeral Home, South River. Entombment was in Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge.
