Mardi Gras dance
Friday, Feb. 4 The Mardi Gras Family Night Out Dance will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. at Holy Assumption School’s McGrath Hall, 1238 Hornberger Ave., Roebling, and the family event is open to the community.

Night of comedy
Saturday, Feb. 5 The Florence Township High School Boosters will sponsor the third annual Comedy Nite at Roebling Firehouse, Main Street, Roebling.

Flea market
Saturday, Feb. 5 The Friends of St. Mary’s School will hold the "Souper Flea Market" from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Mary’s School hall and yard, 30 Elizabeth St., Bordentown.
Tuna salad and egg salad sandwiches, hot dogs, and soup will be featured. A large selection of articles, including clothes, will be on sale from many vendors. Tables are $10 each. Call Sally at 298-7768 for details or to reserve a space.
Black history event
Saturday, Feb. 5 Shiloh Baptist Black History will feature a film and discussion on Solomon Northrup Odessey, the 12 years he was a slave, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 104 ½ Elizabeth St., Bordentown.
The public is invited and a reception will follow.
Monthly social
Sunday, Feb. 6 The Widows and Widowers of Burlington County will hold a monthly social at the Relief Fire House, 1020 Neck Road, Burlington.

Band fund-raiser
Monday, Feb. 7 The Bordentown Regional High School Band will hold a fund-raiser at Jester’s, Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown.
Some of the band members will perform soft dinner music during the course of the evening and 20 percent of your bill will be donated to the BRHS Band Boosters. Be sure to tell the waiter you are there to support the band.
School registration
Starting Monday, Feb. 7 Holy Assumption School, 1238 Hornberger Ave., Roebling, will hold kindergarten and pre-kindergarten registration for the 2005-06 school year from through Friday, Feb. 11 by appointment.

Tuesday, Feb. 8 A valentine and craft session will be held at 6:30 p.m. Children ages 4 to 7 are invited to celebrate Valentine’s Day with stories and a craft.
Chamber of Commerce
Wednesday, Feb. 9 Bordentown Area Chamber of Commerce monthly meeting will be held at 7:30 a.m. in the patio room of Mastoris and the public is invited.

Back-to-school event
Thursday, Feb. 10 Bordentown Regional High School’s spring semester "Back to School Night" will be held at 7 p.m. The program is designed to provide parents with the opportunity to meet teachers and become informed about the courses their child is taking.
After a brief welcome in the high school auditorium, parents will follow their child’s abbreviated schedule. Guidance counselors, supervisors and administrators will also be available to provide assistance and answer any questions.

Blood drive
Thursday, Feb. 10 The Community Blood Council of New Jersey will hold a blood drive from 5 to 9 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Lodge, The Masonic Temple at 121 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown.
It is open to the public. If you donate a unit of blood, you will receive free coverage for any blood needs you might have for the period of one year through the Masonic blood bank. You need not be a member of the Masonic Order to donate.
Comedy show
Saturday, Feb. 12 "Comedy Blast" will be held at Holy Assumption School, Hornberger Avenue and Parish Lane, Roebling. Tickets are $20 in advance, $23 at the door and include hot buffet, complimentary drink, door prizes and show.
The event features John Larocchia, a full-time New York City fireman and survivor of the Sept. 11, 2001 tragedy. He is a regular at Caroline’s, Catch a Rising Star and the Comic Strip as well as winner of the funniest fireman in America as seen on "The View."

Atlantic City trip
Sunday, Feb. 13 The Knights of Columbus No. 570 will sponsor a bus trip to the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. Bus will leave St. Mary’s parking lot at 4:30 p.m. for a four-hour stay at the casino.

Boating safety
Starting Wednesday, Feb. 16 The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 61 will conduct two courses for boaters at the Bordentown Regional High School.
The five-week Advanced Boating Safety Course starts Feb. 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. for $45. The advanced 10-week Coastal Navigation Course starts Tuesday, March 8 from 7 to 9:15 p.m. for $75.

Nicotine Anonymous
Through Tuesday, Feb. 22 Nicotine Anonymous meetings will be held weekly on Tuesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Divine Word Missionary Gym, second floor, 101 Park St., Bordentown.
Meetings are open to anyone who has the desire to stop using nicotine. You need not have quit to attend. There are no dues or fees. Meetings will be held Tuesdays through Feb. 22. Call 298-1866 for details.
Family Movie Night
Tuesday, Feb. 24 Family Movie Night at Trinity Untied Methodist Church, 339 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Cost is $2 per person.
School board deadline
Monday, Feb. 28 The deadline for filing nominating petitions to run for positions on the Bordentown Regional School District Board of Education is 4 p.m. The election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 19.
Prospective school board candidates can obtain a candidate kit at the school district’s business office located at 48 Dunns Mill Road, Bordentown, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Chinese Auction
Friday, March 4 The Columbus Home and School Association will sponsor the annual Chinese Auction at the Northern Burlington Regional High School cafeteria. Doors open at 6 p.m. and drawings will begin promptly at 8 p.m.
The $5 admission fee at the door includes one sheet of tickets. Refreshments will be available. More tickets will be available for purchase. No one under 18 will be admitted. Prizes include quality handmade crafts, tickets to local attractions, gift certificates to local businesses and other merchandise.
Art exhibit
Through March 5 "…Winter, A Group Show" at the Artful Deposit Gallery, 201 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown City, will be held through March 5. Gallery-wide participation featuring Patrick Antonell, Michael Budden, and Cynthia Dawley.
Light refreshments will be served Sundays during the exhibition. Gallery days are Tuesday through Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 1 to 8 p.m. Call 298-6970 for more details and directions.

St. Paddy’s Day 5k
Saturday, March 12 The third running of the Bordentown St. Paddy’s Day 5k run and 2-mile fun walk will start at Clara Barton School and go through the streets of Bordentown City. The walk starts at 8:45 a.m. and the run at 9:30 a.m.
The fund-raiser is sponsored by the Bordentown Education Foundation and all proceeds will go to grants for teachers in the district and scholarships for graduating seniors.

Italian festival
