Joseph M. Giuliana
   Joseph M. Giuliana, 92, of Monroe, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Acorn Glen Quality Assisted Living in Princeton.
   Raised in Belleville, he later lived in Cedar Grove, Wayne and Montclair before moving to Monroe 10 years ago.
   He attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Newark College of Engineering from 1940 to 1942, where he studied production and time study methods engineering. He also received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Seton Hall University, which he attended from 1942 to 1946.
   Mr. Giuliana received his real estate license from LaSalle University. He was the owner of real estate company Joseph Giuliana & Co. in Totowa for 15 years, before retiring in 1996. He was recognized for being one of the first realtors to use a closed circuit videotape system that allowed prospective buyers to look at the property from his office without actually visiting the residence. He also created a computerized card system, which programmed available homes for sale according to size, price, location, etc.
   Previously, he was a controller for a large company, then entered in the real estate business when he went to work for Stanley Realty, Ltd. in Newark. Following this, he was vice president of the Continental Capital Corp., mortgage brokers.
   Mr. Giuliana was a past president, treasurer and secretary of the Cedar Grove Lions Club; trustee of the United Club in Cedar Grove; a past president of the United Fund of Northern Essex County District and West Caldwell Taxpayer’s Association; a secretary for the Board of Adjustment, Cedar Grove; and a member of the New York Appraisal Society.
   He is survived by his son, Edward J. Giuliana; two daughters, Dolores Howell and Carolyn G. Furey; a sister, Josephine Siciliano; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
   A funeral was held Saturday, Feb. 5, at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St., Nutley. A funeral mass followed at St. Cassian’s Church in Upper Montclair, as well as entombment in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
