Thanks to a $15,000 grant from the J. Seward Johnson Sr. 1963 Charitable Trust, the Princeton Recreation Department will continue to provide financial aid to local residents in need.
The grant, recognized by the Recreation Department during its Jan. 27 meeting, will be used to help children meet fees for day camp, travel camp and pool use, department Director Jack Roberts said.
"We help about 40 to 50 families a year," Mr. Roberts said.
"It keeps kids from sitting on the curb with nothing to do, particularly in the summer," he added.
The J. Seward Johnson Charitable Trust is a philanthropic organization that offers grants to local health and education programs.
