FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — The Boy Scouts of America celebrated their longtime tradition of a Pinewood Derby at the West Freehold School on Jan. 8.
Members of Cub Scout Pack No. 155 built their derby cars from a block of wood, wheels and axles and raced them against each other. Every car was inspected before the race for its weight and wheel base standards.
Pack No. 155 had 79 Scouts race cars.
The derby grand finale winners were: first place, Michael Grajek; second place, Anthony Picciano; and third place, Charles Emanuele.
Divisional winners were Anthony Picciano, Dylan Reed, Charles Emanuele, Michael Grajek, Frank Anastasio, Joseph Ferrandino, Sean Powers, Frank Conforti, Kyle O’Brien, Patrick Kelly, Harry Biddle, Domenic Collura, Dylan Tarpey, Danny Galli and Matthew Ferrara.
