Art, poetry exhibit opens at library March 2

The Red Bank Public Library, 84 W. Front St., will exhibit artwork and poetry from the children’s book “Technically, It’s Not My Fault” by John Grandits March 2-April 28.

Grandits is a Red Bank resident. His book features poems written from the perspective of an 11-year-old boy, and 2- and 3-D shapes that incorporate poetry and form.

The Monmouth County-based establishment Artscapes will offer three free monthly art workshops for adults at the library, beginning with “Try Your Hand at Drawing” March 10. Artist Lorraine Niemela will teach this class and “Try Your Hand at Drawing II” April 14. Both will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Artist Denise Weiner will present “Spring Cleaning for the Right Side of Your Brain” May 5 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Materials for all classes will be available for a small fee. Library hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call the library at (732) 842-0690.
