‘Rolling on the River’ to benefit food bank

  • The American Culinary Federation, Jersey Shore Chefs Association will present its 14th annual “Winterfest,” themed “Rolling on the River,” Feb. 25 from 6-10 p.m. at Crystal Point Yacht Club, Route 70, Point Pleasant.

    • The event will be a casino night, and guests will be given play money to use at regulation-size tables and slot machines. The association’s chefs will also prepare various hors d’oeuvres and dessert. The event will also feature a silent auction. Tickets are $50.

    Sierra Club Jersey Shore Group to meet Feb. 28

    The Sierra Club Jersey Shore Group will hold its next meeting Feb. 28 at 8 p.m. at The Old Wharf House, Main Street, Oceanport. The public is welcome to attend, and cookies and coffee will be served.

    Club member Dan Aronson will present “More Time — Cleaner Environment.” The discussion will concern energy efficiency and how residents can help preserve the environment. Aronson spoke at the 2004 “Take Back Your Time” annual convention.
