MANVILLE Martha J. (Severyn) Starzinski died Feb. 12 at home. She was 86.
Born in Ernest, Pa., she lived in Manville most of her life.
Mrs. Starzinski and her husband, Andrew Starzinski, operated Weston Luncheonette in Manville. She then worked for Texize Chemical in Piscataway while attending school for her degree in nursing. She was employed as an LPN for Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, retiring after working there for several years.
She was a communicant of Christ the King Church in Manville.
Her husband, Andrew Starzinski, died in 1968.
Surviving are a son, Ray Star of Manville; a sister, Emily Kudek of Detroit; and two step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 15 from Fucillo and Warren Funeral Home in Manville, followed by a funeral liturgy at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.

Anna Lecoskey
BOUND BROOK Anna M. Lecoskey died Feb. 7 at the home of her daughter, Connie, in Stockton. She was 88.
Born in Wallington, she was raised and resided in Manville for 40 years. Then she moved to Bound Brook, where she resided for 40 years before moving to live with her daughter in April 2003.
Mrs. Lecoskey worked as a waitress at the former Colonial Farms in Middlebush and later worked in production at both Diehl’s Manufacturing and Burroughs in Warren, where she retired from after many years of service.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough and was a member of the Rosary Society and the Columbiettes and assisted at bingo and making pierogi.
Her husband, John A. Lecoskey, died in 1983; her first husband, Thomas Mooney, is deceased; her sisters and brothers are deceased.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Mooney of Westminster, Colo., and Henry Mooney of North Brunswick; two daughters, Connie Evans of Stockton and Paula Millus of Morrisvile, Pa.; one sister, Margaret Lawrence of East Windsor; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 11 from Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home in Manville, followed by a funeral liturgy at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Hillsborough. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.

Marc Gorsky Jr.
MANVILLE Marc W. Gorsky Jr. died Feb. 7 at his college residence in Downingtown, Pa. He was 20.
Born in Long Beach, Calif., he was a resident of Manville.
Mr. Gorsky was a 2004 graduate of Manville High School and was attending the Universal Technical Institute of Exton, Pa.
He was a member of the Bridgewater Baptist Church.
Surviving are his mother, Teresa Sarahmarie Mejia Kalvites of Manville and his father, Marc W. Gorsky Sr. of Basking Ridge; his stepfather, Stephen A. Kalvites of Manville; a brother, Michael Ash of Downey, Calif.; two sisters, Sara M. Gorsky of Manville and Michelle R. Ladezma of Hillsborough; a paternal grandmother, Pearl Gorsky of Basking Ridge; a maternal grandmother, Julia Machado of Norwalk, Calif.; and his girl friend, Jamie Molloy of Manville.
Funeral services and interment were private.
Arrangements were by the Ralston & Bredickas Funeral Home in Downingtown.
Claire Amato
MANVILLE Claire E. Amato died Feb. 8 at home. She was 73.
Born in Scranton, Pa., she lived in Manville for the past 68 years.
Mrs. Amato worked for Johns-Manville Corp. in Manville and most recently she worked for the Happy Hearts Children’s Nursery in Hillsborough before retiring in 1995.
She was a devoted Born Again Christian.
Survivors include her husband, John Amato; three daughters, Christine Barrek of Nazareth, Pa., Patricia Amato of Laguna Beach, Calif., and Susan Kull of Harmony Township; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were officiated by the Rev. Barry Winchell of The Grace Fellowship Evangelical Free Church of Milford at Ketusky Funeral Home in Manville. Burial was private.
Florence Neumann
HILLSBOROUGH Florence (Alligier) Neumann died Feb. 7 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. She was 83.
Born in Paterson, she was raised in Hillsborough. She moved to Manville in 1946 and moved back to Hillsborough in 1999.
Mrs. Neumann was a homemaker and briefly worked in the cafeteria in the Alexander Batcho School in Manville.
She was an active member of the Ladies Republican Club in Manville and the Manville Senior Citizens Club.
Her husband, Arno O. Neumann, died in 1992; her brothers also are deceased.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald. R. of Toms River and Martin K. of Brea, Calif.; a daughter, Rita Nunez-Neumann, Esq., of Las Cruces, N.M.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Feb. 12 from Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home in Manville with the Rev. Steve Eckert of South Branch Reformed Church officiating. Committal words and interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in East Millstone.
Patricia Birrell
HILLSBOROUGH Patricia D. Birrell died Feb. 13 at home. She was 73.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she grew up in Garden City, N.Y., and lived in Scotch Plains before moving to Hillsborough 20 years ago.
Mrs. Birrell retired in 1996 after working for the Cranford Board of Education and the Somerville Board of Education as a special education teacher.
Her first husband, Henry Makowski, died in 1979.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Birrell; two sons, Mark Makowski of Scotch Plains and Matthew Birrell of Kunkletown, Pa.; a daughter, Noelle Kalin of Mendham; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral service is being held at 1 p.m. today from Hillsborough Funeral Home in Hillsborough. Cremation will be private.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
