Myrl F. Goldberg
Myrl F. Goldberg, 78, of Clearbrook, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, at her residence.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Goldberg resided in Plainfield for many years before coming to Clearbrook some 30 years ago. She was a 1947 graduate of the Monmouth College School of Nursing and had worked as a registered nurse for many years. For more than 23 years Ms. Goldberg worked as a health advisor at New Brunswick High School. She retired in 1989. Ms. Goldberg was the class advisor to the New Brunswick High School Class of 1979. She was so dedicated and loved by the high school student body that they dedicated the 1979 yearbook to her.
Ms. Goldberg enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, cooking, and traveling.
Her parents, David and Dorothy Pearlman Rothstein, are deceased. She is survived by her husband, Nathan Goldberg; her daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Rabbi Bennett Miller (spiritual leader of Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple in New Brunswick), of Monroe, and Barbara and Barry Cohen of Scarsdale, N.Y.; her sister, Judith Harrington of Cedar Falls, Iowa; her grandchildren, Rabbi Ellie Miller and her husband, Nathan Lynn, Carrie and Jed Nussbaum and David and Brian Cohen; a great-grandson, Sam Lynn; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 10, at Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple, 222 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick. Interment followed in Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge. Memorial contributions may be made to Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple. Arrangements are by Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, 239 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick.
