TECHNOLOGY
Nathaniel Fisch, a Princeton University professor and a scientist at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL), received the 2004 E.O. Lawrence Award. He is among seven winners of the award, which is given in categories for outstanding contributions in the field of atomic energy. Each winner received a gold medal, a citation and a cash prize. Dr. Fisch, a Princeton resident, was recognized in the nuclear technology category.
Additionally, in recognition of exceptional research contributions to and leadership in magnetic confinement fusion science, Dale Meade and Ned Sauthoff have been elected Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Mr. Meade and Mr. Sauthoff are scientists at PPPL and residents of Princeton Township.
PPPL, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and managed by Princeton University, is a collaborative national center for science and innovation leading to an attractive fusion energy source.
RETAIL
Daniel McKee Jr. has been appointed manager of sales and marketing for Unionville Vineyards of Ringoes. In addition to managing all wine sales, his responsibilities include the organization and management of special events and festivals, maintaining relationships with local businesses and professional associations, and other public relations.
He spent several years on the retail side of the industry before deciding to turn his interest in wine into a career. Mr. McKee holds a sommelier diploma and is a professional member of the Sommelier Society of America.
He currently resides in Hopewell Township.
Hamilton Jewelers presented the President’s Award, created to recognize employees who achieved sales and performance excellence, to Leslie Smith and Vera Prather, sales associates and Terri Goldsmith, assistant manager, all of the Princeton location.
Hamilton Jewelers is a third generation, family-owned business specializing in fine jewelry, timepieces and home accessories. Store locations are in Princeton, Lawrenceville and Red Bank, as well as Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
LAW
Christopher DeGrezia of Princeton has been elected to CancerCare’s Greater Mercer Area board. CancerCare of New Jersey provides support services to anyone affected by cancer patients, caregivers, children, loved ones and the bereaved through counseling, education, referral and financial assistance. The organization has offices throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
Mr. DeGrezia, of Drinker Biddle & Reath, concentrates his legal practice on complex commercial real estate transactions and land development projects. He is dedicated to volunteer service within his community, serving as secretary of the Montgomery Center for the Arts in Montgomery Township, and as vice president and treasurer of the Princeton Bar Association. He has also provides pro-bono legal services to numerous local not-for-profit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity of Trenton, Montgomery Friends of Open Space, and Delaware & Raritan Greenway.
Kris Kolluri of West Windsor has joined Parker McCay as counsel. Mr. Kolluri will concentrate his practice in the areas of administrative and government regulation, public finance and redevelopment law.
Before joining Parker McCay, Mr. Kolluri was chief of staff to New Jersey Transportation Commissioner Jack Lettiere and was assistant commissioner of intergovernmental relations for the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
Parker McCay provides comprehensive legal services to a wide array of clients in such specialties as litigation, public finance, corporate, governmental and regulatory affairs. The firm is headquartered in Marlton with local offices in Lawrenceville.
The law firm of Hill Wallack announced that Stephen J. Hyland joined the Princeton office as partner-in-charge of the firm’s trusts and estates practice group. He will concentrate his practice on estate planning and administration, elder law and domestic partnership law. Mr. Hyland has authored a book and published numerous articles on estate planning and domestic partnership law, privacy law, computer law and internal law, and is a frequent speaker on legal issues. He is a resident of Titusville.
ENGINEERING
HACBM Architects Engineers Planners announced that Ashraf E. Metwally, the firm’s director of structural engineering, has been named a principal.
A structural engineer with nearly 20 years professional experience, Mr. Metwally is responsible for all structural engineering design and documentation for the firm’s projects.
Mr. Metwally joined HACBM in 1998. Educated in Egypt, and a licensed professional engineer in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York, he is a resident of Hillsborough.
