MANVILLE Bazyli Zurawiecki died Feb. 17 at his home. He was 72.
Born in Podebce, Ukraine, he came to the United States in 1963, settling in Manville where he was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church.
Mr. Zurawiecki was in the receiving/shipping department of Johns-Manville Corp. for 23 years. He had been a color dye technician at Akzo International, formerly of Neshanic Station, for 13 years.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Maria Zurawiecki; sons Peter of Longwood, Fla., and Anthony of Monroe Township; daughters Anna Kolos of Longwood, Fla., and Mary Schindel of Millstone Township; a sister, Anna Melnyczuk of Millstone; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 21. Funeral liturgy took place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Manville, followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hillsborough.
Arrangements were by Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, Manville.
Gertrude Franzoso
MANVILLE Gertrude Seigler Franzoso died Monday at Foothill acres Nursing Home, Hillsborough. She was 84.
Born in Detroit to Stephen and Edna Jakubick Seigler, she had been a resident of Manville for most of her life.
Mrs. Franzoso retired in 1983 as a supervisor of the cafeteria at Manville High School after 20 years of service.
She was a member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church of Manville where she had been a CCD teacher and was active in the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of Thomas J. Kavanaugh Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2290 Ladies Auxiliary of Manville.
Wife of the late Paul P. Franzoso, Mrs. Franzoso is survived by her son Jerome "Jerry" Seigler of Manville; daughters and sons-in-law Pauline and Mark Hamilton of Roseland, and Mary Lou and Frank Cebula of Manville; brothers Stephen Seigler Jr. of Hillsborough, Theodore Seigler of Manville, and Raymond Seigler of Nazareth, Pa.; sisters Evelyn Iszak of Roebling, Nellie Jane Mahilo of Manville, Caroline Marinock of Harliegh, Pa., Phyllis Gianfagna of Dublin, Calif., and Patricia Sikorski of Manville; grandchildren John and Scott Godfrey, Kim Balparda and Christopher and Craig Cebula; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 8:30 a.m. at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Manville, followed by a funeral liturgy at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hillsborough.
Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, and 8 a.m. until the time of the service, Friday.

Patricia Birrell
HILLSBOROUGH Patricia D. Birrell died Feb. 13 at home. She was 73.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she grew up in Garden City, N.Y., and lived in Scotch Plains before moving to Hillsborough 20 years ago.
Mrs. Birrell retired in 1996 after working for the Cranford Board of Education and the Somerville Board of Education as a special education teacher.
Her first husband, Henry Makowski, died in 1979.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Birrell; two sons, Mark Makowski of Scotch Plains and Matthew Makowski of Kunkletown, Pa.; a daughter, Noelle Kalin of Mendham; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 17.
