Gertrude B. White
Gertrude B. White, 73, of Pennington died at her home on Friday.
Born in Philadelphia, she had been a resident of Pennington since 1961.
A graduate of Temple University, Mrs. White taught elementary and special education for the Upper Pottsgrove, Pa. school district.
A member of the Hopewell Presbyterian Church, she was involved in Hopewell Presbyterian Women and the church’s Mary Martha Circle. She also was a volunteer reader at the Library for the Blind and Handicapped for over 20 years.
Preceded in death by a sister Anne Peck, she is survived by her husband, Hugh White; daughter and son-in-law Cindy and David Lewellen of Morgantown, W.V.; son and daughter-in-law Steven and Leanne White of Flemington; and son Bradley White of Hopewell; two grandsons, Paul and Jacob Lewellen; brothers Michael Buchholtz and Karl Buchholtz; and sisters Alberta Knause, Carol Yost, Wilma McConnon and Nancy White.
A memorial service will be held at Hopewell Presbyterian Church today (Monday) at11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 80 W. Broad St., Hopewell, 08525, or the American Cancer Society, Mercer Unit, 306 Princeton Pike, Lawrenceville.
Arrangements are by the Blackwell Memorial Home, Pennington.
Robert W. Whelan
Robert W. Whelan, 60, died Friday at his residence.
Born in Montreal Quebec, Canada, Mr. Whelan has been a resident of Hopewell Township for 15 years.
He was a paramedic and volunteer firefighter for the Otterbourne Fire Company in Montreal, Canada.
Preceded in death by his father Patrick G. Whelan, he is survived by his mother Jean Whelan; his wife Susan Fahs of Hopewell Township; and sisters Maureen and Patsy of Canada.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Cromwell-Immordino Memorial Home, 71 E. Prospect St., Hopewell, with Fr. Dennis Apoldite officiating.
Interment will be private.
Alvin C. Cranstoun
Alvin C. Cranstoun, 82, died Friday at the University Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Lawrenceville, Mr. Cranstoun lived most of his life in Hopewell.
A dairy farmer and truck driver hauling milk from farms to Bordens Johanna Farms for many years, he was a former chief of the Hopewell Fire Department, a member of the Masonic Temple of Hopewell, Y-Knots Camping Group, Businessmen Association and a former Hopewell Valley Little League coach.
Preceded in death by his wife Claire Cranstoun, he is survived by a son Thomas Cranstoun and his wife Lynn Morrissey of Hopewell; a daughter Wendy Cranstoun Shafer of Holland, Pa.; siblings Earl, Milton and Stanley Cranstoun and Dorothy Skellenger; and grandchildren Erin Cranstoun and Courtney, Ryan and Laura Shafer.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Cromwell-Immordino Memorial Home, 71 E. Prospect St., Hopewell, with the Rev. Orrin T. Hardgrove officiating.
Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
