Council of Girl Scouts introduces new board

The Monmouth Council of Girl Scouts Inc., Farmingdale, recently introduced its board of directors for 2005-07 during its 43rd annual meeting in mid-January. The board includes officers, members-at-large and four teenage girls that are Senior Girl Scouts. The board of directors is responsible for charter obligations, corporate relationships, policy, strategic planning and fund development.

New officers include Jeanine Willis of Freehold, third vice president, and Bonnie Chankalian of Brick, treasurer. Willis previously served as treasurer, and Chankalian as a member-at-large. Continuing their terms as board officers are Wall resident Barbara L. Birdsall, president; Eric Wagner, Red Bank, first vice president, Millstone resident Dr. Grace Hickey, second vice president; and Phoebe Edwards, Fair Haven, secretary. New members-at-large are Pilar Curvy and Ray Leahy, both Red Bank.

Other area members-at-large are Dr. Peter Bastardo, Manalapan; Laura Brinkerhoff, Brick; Jerry Cevetello, Farmingdale; Vicky Chilton, Ocean; Debra Dobies, Tinton Falls; Frances Keane, Freehold; Gigi Matthews, Rumson; Harriet Primack, Sea Bright; Stacy Romano, Jackson; Dr. Catherine Snyder, Manalapan; and Anita Voogt, West End section of Long Branch.

The four Senior Girl Scouts serving on the board are Ashley Doucette and Caitlyn Leach, both Freehold; Nicole Keenan, Manalapan; and Lipica Shah, Clarksburg. Area volunteers elected to serve on Monmouth Council’s nominating committee were Jessie Blair, Ocean; Ronni Reed, Holmdel; and Reva Shapiro and Jeanine Willis, both Freehold.
