Michael’s Feat, a local nonprofit organization, will host a benefit ball at historic Gibbs Hall, Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, April 15 from 7-11 p.m.
The Michael Gerard Puharic Memorial Fund Inc. (Michael’s Feat) is dedicated to local families carrying and caring for seriously ill newborns. The proceeds from the event will be earmarked for Jersey Shore University Medical Center’s neonatal intensive care unit.
The black-tie-optional event will feature gourmet foods, fine wines, and domestic and imported beer, as well as live entertainment, dancing, festive decorations and a silent auction. Tickets are $75 per person, and a table of 10 is $675.
The “Tax Free Ball” theme recognizes that local entrepreneurs and businesses make good charitable works possible. This year, the Michael’s Feat honorary co-chairs are Jayne Gasser, financial consultant, Smith Barney, Citigroup Global Markets Inc., and Alan P. Hilla Jr., vice president, Birdsall Engineering Inc. Dana Puharic is chairwoman.
In addition, a local Michael’s Feat family will be honored. The father is a U.S. Marine fighting overseas while the mother is at home raising premature twins.
Silent auction items include a one-week stay at a condo on the beach in Lavalette, and a luxury box at the BlueClaws stadium in Lakewood. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
The Michael Gerard Puharic Memorial Fund Inc., a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, was created in memory of Aberdeen residents Adam and Dana Puharic’s newborn son Michael, who died after an 83-hour battle with a serious chromosome disorder. Michael’s Feat provides support through the donation of needed items that help parents to care for their ill children.
