Angeline Sentimenti Monaci

Mrs. Monaci, 89, of Eatontown, died March 14 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Union City, she resided in Eatontown the past 58 years. She was a school administrator for the Neptune City Board of Education for more than 25 years, retiring in 1985. She was a communicant of St. Jerome’s Roman Catholic Church, West Long Branch. She was an active member of the Shade Tree Commission, member of the board of directors of the Eatontown Public Library, and organized the first Brownie troop in Eatontown during the 1950s. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl A. Monaci in 1994; and two sisters, Irma Sentimenti Kovacs and Norma Sentimenti Schepisi. She is survived by a daughter, Carol Monaci Fahad of Colts Neck. Arrangements were by Braun Funeral Home, Eatontown. Interment was at Woodbine Cemetery Mausoleum, Oceanport. Anna Aschettino Attardi

Mrs. Attardi, 85, of Long Branch, died March 18 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong resident. She was a seamstress at Robert Lewis Sportswear, West Long Branch, for 40 years, retiring 20 years ago. She was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union. She was a parishioner of and member of the Rosary Altar Society at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Long Branch. She was also president of Holy Trinity Seniors, and active with the Long Branch Seniors. She was predeceased by her husband Louis V. Attardi in 2001; and a brother, Carmen Aschettino in 1989. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Pam Attardi of West Allenhurst; a daughter, Lynne T. Attardi of West Bend, Wis.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Trinity Church. Interment was at Mount Carmel Cemetery, West Long Branch. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch. Douglas D. Nelson

Mr. Nelson, 72, of Ocean, died March 18 at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in Orange, he resided in Verona prior to moving to Ocean 30 years ago. He sold realty at various Brokers Realtors agencies. Prior to that, he was a printer at Scott Type Setting, Newark, for 18 years, retiring in 1972. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Oakhurst section of Ocean Township. He was predeceased by his mother, Florence Wood Nelson. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marion D’Addario Nelson; two daughters, Karen Bauer of Howell, and Christina De Respiris of Ocean; his father, Arthur Nelson of Burlington; a brother, Robert Nelson of Florida; a sister, Patricia Pacio of Berkley Heights; and three grandchildren. Burial was at Brig. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch. James B. Knight

Mr. Knight, 66, of Monmouth Beach, died March 2 at St. Barnabas Hospice at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Born in England, he relocated to the United States in 1968. He was employed in sales for more than 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Cherrie Knight; a son, Christopher Knight of Tinton Falls; a daughter, Juliette Knight of Tinton Falls; a stepson, Robert Lee Gregory of North Carolina; a stepdaughter, Lane Gregory of Charleston, S.C.; and three brothers, Paul, Christopher and Peter Knight, all of England. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. Interment was at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank.
