Elizabeth DeSilva
Elizabeth DeSilva, 76, of the Homestead and Mansfield section of Columbus, died on Sunday at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa., she resided in Woodside and Bayside Queens, N.Y., before moving to Columbus 20 years ago.
She retired 22 years ago as an office manager for the New York Life Insurance Co. in Manhattan, where she worked for over 30 years. Predeceased by her husband Bruno (Bob) DeSilva, she is survived by her two brothers, Thomas Semetsis of West Islip, N.Y., and Samuel Stekas of Massapequa, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held today, Thursday, at 11 a.m. at the Dennison Funeral Home, 214 West Front Street, Florence. Officiating will be Rev. Emmanuel Pratsinakis of St. Thomas Green Orthodox Church of Cherry Hill.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Florence. Contributions in her memory may be sent to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Natalie Wolf
Natalie "Mickey" Wolf (nee Langone), 77, of Groveville died Saturday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton. Born in Bordentown, she had lived in the Hamilton Township area for the last 51 years. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church of Yardville, a member and past president of its Altar Rosary Society and was a past teacher of CCD.
Wife of the late Earl R. Wolf, mother of the late Ronald E. Wolf, grandmother of the late Paul R. Wolf and sister of the late Pauline Carvalho and Vincent Langone, she is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Karen Wolf of Yardville, Stephen and Cynthia Wolf of Fairless Hills, Pa. and Kevin and Joan Wolf of Jamison, Pa.; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Susan Langone of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren, Brandon and Stephanie Wolf and Amanda Holmes; several nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, 555 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville. Burial was in North Crosswicks Cemetery, Hamilton Township.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Peppler Funeral Home, 122 Crosswicks St., Bordentown.
Julia Kovatch Veres
ROEBLING Julia Kovatch Veres, 91 of Roebling, died Saturday in Virtua Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, Mount Holly.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Bodea Kovatch. She resided in Roebling since 1950, previously residing in New York City. She was an avid Bridge player and also enjoyed going to Resorts Casino in Atlantic City.
Ms. Veres was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Romanian Catholic Church, Roebling and the Altar Rosary Society of the church, John A. Roebling Senior Citizens and Florence Township Chapter of Deborah.
Wife of the late Alexander Veres and sister and sister-in-law of the late Florence K. and John Evans, she is survived by nephew and spouse, Ronald J. Sr. and Helen Evans of Warm Mineral Springs, Fla.; niece and spouse, Eileen F. and Edward Ingram of Palm Coast, Fla.; grandniece, Alexis Evans of Lansdowne, Pa.; grandnephew, Ronald J. Evans Jr. of Warm Mineral Springs, Fla.; special friend, Becky Orr of Roebling, and nieces and nephews in Romania.
The funeral was held on Tuesday at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Ave., Roebling. Funeral Mass was held Tuesday at St. Mary’s Byzantine Romanian Catholic Church, Alden Avenue, Roebling. Interment was in the parish cemetery.

John D. Babula
ROEBLING John D. Babula, 58, of Roebling, died Friday in Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa.
Mr. Babula was born in Trenton and resided in Florence Township lifelong. He was the son of the late Joseph and Elsie Bojtos Babula.
He was formerly employed by John A. Roebling (CF&I), Roebling, Fairless Steel, Fairless Hills, Pa. and Yates Industries/Circuit Foil USA, Bordentown. Mr. Babula was also the proprietor of B&B Construction.
He was an operating engineer, employed by Preventive Maintenance McGuire Air Force Base with two years service.
Mr. Babula was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church and American Citizen Slovak Club, Roebling, Sons of the American Legion Post 194, Florence, Florence Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, Florence Township Fireman’s Exempt Association, Oneida Boat Club, Burlington.
Brother of the late Joseph J. and Francis R. "Bo" Babula, he is survived by his wife, Juliana Bleier Babula; son and companion, Mark Eric Babula and Linda Dipple of Florence; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan Jon and Kristin Babula of Gilbertsville, Pa.; two granddaughter, Sarah and Emma Babula;two sisters, Kathleen Babula of Florence and Karen Babula of Roebling; one brother, Kenneth Babula of Florence; father-in-law, Frank P. Bleier of Roebling; three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Nancy and Colleen Bleier of Roebling, Illona and Michael Brock of Burlington; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arthur J. Grosse Jr.
COLUMBUS Arthur J. Grosse Jr., 80, died March 17 in Burlington Wood-Genesis Elder Care.
Born in Trenton, Mr. Grosse was a longtime area resident. He was a firefighter with the City of Trenton for over 30 years and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre.
Son of the late Rachel (Bleistein) and Arthur J. Grosse Sr., he is survived by his wife, Virginia May Grosse; a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur J. Grosse III and Christina Filice; a daughter, Virginia Ann Goldberg; two grandchildren, Kristyn and Alexander Goldberg; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Elmira and Richard Querns and Katherine Jepsen.
Graveside services will be private. There will be no calling hours. Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Maryanne Kupetsky
CROSSWICKS Maryanne Kupetsky, 63, died March 17 in Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton.
Born and raised in Trenton, Mrs. Kupetsky lived in the Crosswicks area for over 25 years. She graduated from Cathedral High School and attended Rider College. Mrs. Kupetsky was the owner of Hamilton Florist and a longtime member of FTD.
She was a member of Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church, their choir, the evangelization committee and parish council.
Daughter of the late Angelo Salvatore and Angela Zuno Eppolito, she is survived by her husband Michael R. Kupetsky; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela C. and Kenneth Santitoro of Trenton; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Koreen Kupetsky of Hamilton; a sister, Josephine June Armano of West Trenton; a brother and sister-in-law, Salvatore and Patricia Eppolito of Waretown; four grandchildren, Sarah, Jonathan and Anthony Kupetsky and Nicholas Santitoro; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church, S. Broad St., Trenton. Interment will be in Crosswicks Cemetery, Crosswicks.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square.

Alton E. Thompson
COLUMBUS Alton E. Thompson, 84, died March 16 at his home.
Born in Jackson Township, he was a farmer for many years and later retired as a chemical operator for CIBA-Geigy in Toms River after 25 years. He enjoyed spending time traveling and camping.
Husband of the late Jane D. Thompson (nee Pullen) and brother of the late Hilda Cornelius, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Ronald Pampanini of Columbus; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Gerald and Patricia Thompson of Beachwood and Bruce Thompson of Lumberton; a sister, Audrey Younger of Lakewood; three grandchildren, Sandra Thompson, Stacie Murdock, and Leigh Ann Valentino; and three great-grandchildren, Brandon Murdock, Samantha Murdock, and Dominick Tindall.
A memorial service will be held on a later date to be determined by the family. Memorial contributions may be made on his behalf to the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, Pleasant Grove Road, Jackson, NJ 08527.
