March 24

• “Really Big Coloring Books” Sale, sponsored by the East Brunswick Regional Chamber of Commerce. Books available at the following East Brunswick locations: W. Berman Decorating Marketplace, 252 Route 18; Greenfield Jewelers, 418 Route 18; East Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, 21 Brunswick Woods Drive. Additional sale site: BW Gallery and Frame, 245 S. Main St., Milltown.

• “Hometown Savings 2005” Book Sale, sponsored by the Friends of the Spotswood Public Library, 548 Main St. Books contain discount coupons from many local retailers and large, chain merchants in Spotswood, East Brunswick, South River, Milltown, Monroe, Old Bridge. Coupons expire Dec. 31. Cost is $18. All proceeds benefit the Friends and will be used to support library programs and services. To order, call the library at (732) 251-1515.

• Cell phone collection and empty inkjet or laser computer cartridge collection, both sponsored by the Spotswood High School Band. Old cell phones will be sent to women’s shelters and to troops stationed overseas. Phones need not be in working condition or have chargers or batteries. Collection boxes are located at the high school, Memorial School and KrisKell Creations Hair Salon, all Summerhill Road; Schoenly School, Kane Avenue; the Spotswood Public Library, Spotswood Post Office and Kearny Bank, all Main Street. The band continues to participate in a Kash for Kids fund-raising program that pays the group $2 for each empty inkjet or laser computer cartridge collected. • Book Sale, sponsored by the Spotswood Public Library, during regular hours, at the library, 548 Main St. Hardcover books, paperbacks, children’s books, audiocassettes, videocassettes. Paperbacks sell for 50 cents each or three for $1, hardcovers for 75 cents and up, videocassettes for $1. “All-You-Can-Carry for $5” sale March 30 and 31 (after 2:30 p.m.) and April 1.
