Russel Wachterhauser, 42, of Piscataway was charged with shoplifting at 1:50 p.m. March 15.
While walking down an aisle at ShopRite, a store security officer noticed Mr. Wachterhauser place nine boxes of Gillette razor blades into his coat pocket, police said.
After taking Mr. Wachterhauser into custody the security officer summoned police.
Mr. Wachterhauser was issued a complaint warrant for shoplifting and was arraigned at Municipal Court that night, police said.
He received a 90-day jail sentence.
The razor blades were valued at $143.01.

A Richmond Court resident reported having his car and the front of his residence egged at 1:57 p.m. March 19.
The victim told police that sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. someone had thrown eggs at his car and the front door of his residence.
