The Monmouth County Park System will offer “Spring Cleaning Feather Duster” for parents and children age 3-8 April 4 from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost is $15 per child for the craft program during which children will decorate a feather duster.
Dog obedience classes will be offered to dogs age four months and owners age 12 and older. Schedule is as follows: Mondays May 2 to June 20, Tuesdays May 3 to June 14 or Thursdays May 5 to June 16, and all classes are from 6:15-7:10 p.m. or 7:15-8:10 p.m. An intermediate-level class will be Wednesdays May 4 to June 15 from 7:15-8:10 p.m.
A “Canine Good Citizen Class” will also be offered Wednesdays May 4 to June 15 from 6:15-7:10 p.m. All classes are $44, with a $10 fee if individuals want dog evaluated by an AKC-certified evaluator following completion of the good citizen class. “Mind Your Manners” for preteens will be April 6 from 5-6:30 p.m. Fee is $15 for the class that will tech proper posture, speech, and mannerisms. “Make-Up Tricks and Trends” for teens and ‘tweens will be April 6 from 6:30-8 p.m. Cost is $15. “Acting Workshops for Kids” age 9-12 will be offered Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. April 6 to May 4. A session for children age 6-8 will be Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon April 9 to May 7. Cost is $70 for either program. “Wool Days/Sheep Shearing” will be April 23 and 24 from noon-3 p.m. at Longstreet Farm, Longstreet Road, Holmdel. The free event will include sheep shearing and demonstrations by sheep-herding dogs, and wagon rides to Holmes-Hendrickson House where there will be spinning and weaving activities.
