Mayor’s behavior at meeting irks resident

Recently, I attended a Jackson Township Committee meeting at town hall and the only thing I can find myself saying is that Mayor Mike Broderick should be ashamed of himself.

Under Jackson’s form of government, the primary job of the mayor is to preside over the meetings of the committee. Since Mayor Broderick took office (in January), he has not only failed to keep control of the township meetings, but he has, in my opinion, been the source of much of the poor decorum.

I find that the mayor’s behavior has repeatedly gone beyond what I would call impolite.

To be more specific, I have watched Mayor Broderick treat his fellow committeemen with disrespect and even outright contempt. What is more, when members of the public (especially women) dare to question Mayor Broderick, he responds with scorn, ridicule, disdain and condescension.

In my opinion, with each passing meeting, Mayor Broderick is humiliating himself and giving our town a bad name; to say nothing of the fact that he is being verbally abusive to Jackson taxpayers on a consistent basis.

Mayor Broderick should publicly apologize to the people of Jackson for his insufferable arrogance and outrageous behavior.
