Two Lambertville men are facing charges after an early Friday morning altercation sent another Lambertville man to the hospital.
Police responded to Bridge Street and Route 165 at 1 a.m. for a possible fight in progress.
As police arrived, they saw Uberto Gonzalez, 26, covered in blood and trying to walk away from a man that lay beaten in the street.
Police arrested Mr. Gonzalez as well as Fidel Vasquez, 19, who had been brandishing a 13-inch butcher knife, police said.
The 20-year-old victim was taken by the Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad to Hunterdon Medical Center where he was held for treatment for his injuries.
Mr. Gonzalez was charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. He was taken to Hunterdon County Jail on $2,500 bail.
Mr. Vasquez was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and released.
Police said they are looking for a fourth man who left before officers arrived.
Lopez Villanueva, 25, and Jesus Hernandez, 34, were arrested March 23 at 9 p.m. after being found living in a railroad car on the Delaware-Raritan Canal towpath.
Police found both after smelling wood burning from within the railroad car.
Mr. Villanueva was charged with interference with transportation and hindering apprehension after providing a false name. He was turned over to New Brunswick for failure to appear on criminal charges.
Mr. Hernandez was charged with interference with transportation and released.
March 23 at about 2 p.m., there was a one-vehicle accident on Route 202 just south of Upper Mountain Road.
A vehicle driven by Diane R. Drosdal-Ponticell, 50, of Robinhood Lane, Chatham, N.J., was going north on Route 202 when a large tree limb fell and landed on the roof of her vehicle.
There were no injuries reported. The vehicle had to be towed.
A second vehicle following Ms. Drosdal-Ponticell also was damaged in the front by the limb and had to be towed. The vehicle was driven by Abigail S. Lieb, 45, of Timberbrooke Drive, Hopewell.
Monday at about 6:30 p.m., there was a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Aquetong and Stoney Hill roads.
A vehicle driving south on Aquetong Road by Nona D. Knight, 73, of Aquetong Road, New Hope, and a vehicle driven by Donald J. Kerr, 24, of Fire Creek Road, Newtown, Pa., were east on Stoney Hill Road when the accident occurred.
No injuries were reported.
