An administrative theater assistant is need at an office with a relaxed atmosphere in Long Branch to help with clerical duties. Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age.
Help is needed at emergency food pantries in Long Branch (age 21) and Wall Township (age 16). Several volunteers are needed to serve on a theater’s committee for a wine-tasting event in June (age 21). An Eatontown hospice is seeking people to assist with clerical duties, work with patients, visit patients, and help with crafts, music and pet therapy.
A blood center needs several volunteers for blood drives (age 18). Math tutors are needed in the Freehold area to assist children (slope intercept form) on an ongoing basis one day a week, 6-7 p.m. (age 17). A Middletown organization that assists children with disabilities needs help with its sports activities program; no prior experience is required (age 18). An organization that assists the homeless needs volunteers to help residents with computers, play board games and be mentors. Computer assistants, especially with data entry skills, are needed at a hospice in Tinton Falls (age 18).
A Spanish-speaking mentor is needed to work with a young mother in the Freehold area who has a very sick infant. The volunteer will help with parenting, resources, and paperwork (age 25).
A driver with a truck or van is needed at a food pantry in Wall (age 18). Office help is needed at a Farmingdale public relations department (age 18). Tutors (math, science, computer training, reading, writing) and grant writers are needed at an after-school tutorial program in the Long Branch area.
A computer instructor is needed at a senior center (age 15). Many volunteers are needed for a bike tour from Sandy Hook through south Jersey on May 21 from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Companion riders are needed in the Middletown area to accompany seniors (some disabled) on daily bus trips to area stores and help with shopping (age 18).
A Freehold home for seniors needs a volunteer to teach computer skills to residents and assist with arts and crafts. Volunteers are needed to help at an MS Walk through Sandy Hook, Belmar and Freehold on April 17, beginning at 7 a.m.
And, a Shrewsbury organization that assists young people with disabilities is in need of aides for its computer classes. No specific knowledge of computers is required (eighth-graders and older).

Oyster, chicken salad
dinner set for April 3
The New Egypt Ladies Fire Auxiliary will host its annual fried oyster and chicken salad dinner April 3 beginning at noon. The dinner will be served family-style.
The cost is $17 for adults, $8 for children ages 5-12, and no charge for children under age 5. Takeout dinners will be $18, and local deliveries will be $19; call (609) 758-2350. Tickets will be sold at the door. Proceeds will benefit the New Egypt Volunteer Fire Company, Main Street.
