Alice Naar
Alice B. Naar, 89, died Wednesday, March 23, at Cranbury Care Center, Monroe.
Born on March 6, 1916, in New Brunswick, she was the daughter of Ellie and Bella Benzilio. She lived in North Brunswick and East Brunswick before moving to Clearbrook in 2001. Ms. Naar graduated from New Brunswick High School, worked briefly as a seamstress and was a homemaker for most of her life.
She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She was a lifelong member of Congregation Etz Ahaim and was active with the sisterhood of the temple for many years.
Her husband, Harry A. Naar, a son, Elliot H. Naar, and a daughter, Anita Naar-Gold, are deceased. She is survived by a son, Albert R. Naar, and his wife, Judy, of Highland Beach, Fla.; a sister, Mary Belsky, of Sunrise, Fla.; two brothers, Albert Benzilio and his wife, Stella, of Highland Park, and Victor Benzilio and his wife, Charlotte, of East Brunswick; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sunday, March 27, at Congregation Etz Ahaim, Highland Park, with Rabbi David Bassous officiating. Interment followed at Elmwood Cemetery, New Brunswick. Arrangements under the direction of Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick. Donations may be made to the Book of Life in her memory to Congregation Etz Ahaim.
