OBITUARIES: Joan Rupp

Joan Rupp
   Joan C. Rupp Varga, 69, died Tuesday, March 29, with family at her side at her home in Monroe, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
   Born in New Brunswick, she was raised in Highland Park, and lived in New Brunswick and South Brunswick before moving to Monroe 15 years ago. She was a lifelong member of the Reformed Church of Highland Park.
   Her father, William Rupp, and a sister, Dorothy Noll, are deceased. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul J. Varga Jr.; five sons, Paul Varga III of Fredericksburg, Va., Wayne Varga and his wife, Patricia, of Edison, Robert Varga, Thomas Varga and his wife, Ann Marie, of Monroe and William Varga of Spotswood; her mother, Gladys Rupp of Carteret; a brother, William Rupp of South Brunswick; a sister, Carol Sullivan of Carteret; and 12 grandchildren, Wayne Jr., Nicholas, Todd, Paul IV, Katie, Elizabeth, Susan, Steven, Johnathan, Michael, John and William.
   Funeral services were held Saturday, April 2, at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Burial followed in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Reformed Church of Highland Park, 19-21 Second Ave., Highland Park, N.J. 08904.
