Mabel L. Dey

MONROE — Mabel Lolly Dey died Monday at University Medical Center at Princeton. She was 82.
   Born in the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, she was a resident of Plainsboro and West Windsor from 1922 to 2000, then moving to Meadow Lakes.
   She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross and also served as a volunteer for many years at University Medical Center at Princeton.
   She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck and West Windsor Keenagers and also had been a member of Princeton Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star No. 91.
   She was a 1940 graduate of Princeton High School.
   Daughter of the late Leroy and Mabel MacKenzie, wife of the late Lawrence C. Dey, she is survived by sons Charlie L. Dey of West Windsor and Alan J. Dey of Cranbury; daughter Linda McDonald of Sarasota, Fla.; grandchildren C. Lawrence, Cara, Sherri, Michelle, Lora Lyn and Keith; nine great-grandchildren; four nieces; and three nephews.
   A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck, 154 South Mill Road, West Windsor.
   Private burial will take place at Dutch Neck Cemetery, Princeton Junction.
   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck, 154 South Mill Road, Princeton Junction, NJ 08550 or to the donor’s choice.

John F. Harris

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — John Ferlando Harris died March 22 at Kingdom Hospital. He was 49.
   Born in Charlottesville, Va., he was raised in Princeton. He attended the Princeton school system and graduated from Princeton High School in 1973.
   Mr. Harris was a deputy data center manager at Al-Rajhi Banking and Investment Corp. in Riyadh at the time of his death.
   He was first employed as a keypunch operator at Mathmatica Policy Research in West Windsor while still attending high school. From there he worked for Boeing Vertol in Ridley Park, Pa., as a computer operator, at which point he obtained employment in Saudi Arabia, where he had been living for the past 17 years. Initially employed at Sameric, a Saudi marketing and refinery corporation, as a systems operations analyst, he then joined Arabian Data Systems as a data center manager.
   He is survived by his parents, Estelle Phox of Princeton and Charles Phox Sr.; son Michael Harris of New Orleans; brothers Charles Phox Jr. and Barry Phox of Princeton; sisters and brothers-in-law Lisa and Muhammad Khan of Kansas City, Mo., and Cynthia and Darryle Foy of Fayetteville, N.C.; nephew Bashoun Phox and niece Asna Phox of Trenton; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
   A memorial service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Princeton, Paul Robeson Place and John Street, Princeton.
   Graveside services will be conducted by Hughes Funeral Home of Trenton at a later date.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK — James P. "Jazzy" Mitchell of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, died Friday at University Medical Center at Princeton. He was 87.
   Born in Philadelphia and educated in the Philadelphia public school system, Mr. Mitchell was a retired employee of John C. Dolph Inc. of Monmouth Junction.
   He was an Army veteran of World War II.
   He was a member of First Baptist Church of Princeton, Witherspoon Lodge No. 178 I.P.O.E. of the World and Charles Robinson Post No. 218 of the American Legion.
   Son of the late Oliver and Virginia Mitchell, father of the late Deborah Thompson and Rock Mitchell, he is survived by his wife, Sadie; sons James Jr. of York, Pa., George "Porky" Mitchell of Trenton, Walter "Chung" Sutton, Phillip "Sam Brown" Sutton, and Johnny Mitchell all of South Brunswick; daughters Phyllis Sutton of Lawrence, Barbara Sutton of California, Sandra and Beatrice Mitchell both of New York City, Sugie of Trenton, and Cookie of South Carolina; and several grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and cousins.
   The funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Pisgah A.M.E. Church, 170 Witherspoon St., Princeton.
   Calling hours will be 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Organizational service will be conducted at 10 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Vernard R. Leak will officiate.
   Interment will be in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.
   Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home, Trenton.
Margaret C. Roberton

Margaret Cecilia Roberton of Princeton died Saturday at home. She was 83.
   Born in Yorkshire, England, she and her husband spent many years in various countries around the world and settled in Princeton in 1971.
   She was a member of Christ Congregation in Princeton.
   Family members remember her for her love of music, wonderful baking and keen sense of humor.
   She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Reg; son Paul; daughters Catherine and Janet; grandchildren Angela, Robert, Jane, Christopher, Andrew, Emily, Sarah, Esther, Naomi and Hannah; and great-grandchildren Tristan and Abigail.
   The funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Congregation Church, Princeton, with the Rev. Jeffrey Mays officiating. There are no calling hours.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Congregation Church, 50 Walnut Lane, Princeton, NJ 08540.

Siang-Yuan Chen

WEST WINDSOR — Siang-Yuan Chen died Saturday at home. He was 68.
   Born in Jiang-Su, China, he attended Taiwan University and came to the United States to receive a master’s degree in accounting from Appalachian State University.
   Recently retired, he worked as an accountant for a number of investment firms.
   He was an accomplished collector of antique oriental art, deriving great joy through his appreciation of the workmanship and beauty of intricate sculptures and artwork.
   He is survived by his wife, Freda, as well as the families of his daughter, Sharon, and son, Andrew, including grandchildren Lucy and Kathryn.

   Services are scheduled for Saturday at the Kimble Funeral Home, 1 Hamilton Ave., Princeton. Calling hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 3 p.m.
Linda E. M. Olson
Services set for April 16
   
A graveside service for Linda Emma Marie Olson, who died Nov. 15, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at Princeton Cemetery.
   The Rev. Christine Reed will officiate and a reception will follow at the Hoffman residence, 31 Broadripple Drive, Princeton.
   Ms. Olson was a Princeton resident before moving to Boulder, Colo. in 1998. She was a retired secretary for the mathematics department at Princeton University and was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church.
