VERO BEACH, Fla. Mary Louise Beilman, chairman of the board of The Princeton Packet Inc., including The Beacon, died Sunday. She was 93.
Born in Greencastle, Ind., she was a Princeton resident since 1942.
Mrs. Beilman was the widow of Bernard Kilgore, one-time chairman of the board of Dow Jones & Company and the noted architect of The Wall Street Journal’s transformation from a little-known Wall Street financial sheet to a national business daily.
Mr. Kilgore purchased The Princeton Packet in 1955 and added five newspapers to that group before he died in 1967 at age 59. The Packet group, which now includes 18 publications, remains in the Kilgore family.
Mrs. Beilman, an active Packet board member who was involved in many Princeton community organizations, married Robert D. Beilman, a retired Pan American World Airways pilot, Dec. 29, 1973. With many flying club awards and honors, he remained active, with his wife, in many flying groups.
Mrs. Beilman was a former member of the board of trustees of Princeton HealthCare System and was a former board member of the Friends of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. She was a former president of the Women’s Auxiliary of the University Medical Center at Princeton and served as co-chairperson of the Princeton Hospital Fete in 1960.
She was a member of the Nassau Presbyterian Church.
She was a member and former president of The Present Day Club and was a charter member of the Bedens Brook Club in Montgomery. She was a former member of The Springdale Golf Club and Pretty Brook Tennis Club. She once also was active in the Princeton area chapter of the American Red Cross.
Mrs. Beilman and her husband maintained residences in Princeton, Nantucket, Mass., Vero Beach and Coral Gables, Fla., and Twin Lakes, Pa.
She was active in the Nantucket Garden Club, a member with her husband of the Nantucket Yacht Club, a member of the Wharf Rats and a former member of the Sankety Golf Club. She was also active in the Coral Gables Garden Club.
She was a 1929 graduate of Greencastle High School and received a bachelor’s degree with a major in English from DePauw University in 1933. At DePauw, she was a member of Alpha Phi and Kappa Kappa Kappa sororities.
After college, she was a high school teacher of English and public speaking in the Greencastle public school system until her 1938 marriage to Mr. Kilgore.
Daughter of the late Kathryn and Dr. James A. Throop, she is survived by her husband, Robert D. Beilman; a daughter, Kathryn Kilgore of Key West, Fla.; two sons John Harvey Kilgore of Tuxedo Park, N.Y., and James Bernard Kilgore of Princeton; three grandchildren, India Lake Kilgore, Matthew Tecumseh Kilgore and Michael Bernard Kilgore; two stepdaughters, Roberta Francesconi and Marina Beilman; eight step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements, under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach, will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

LAMBERTVILLE Minnie M. Strouse, 85, died Tuesday, April 5, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton.
A lifelong resident of Lambertville, Mrs. Strouse was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church.
She was the daughter of the late John and Mary Gazzillo Zambella, widow of Chester M. Strouse and sister of the late Jennie Johnson and Andrew Zambella.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Thomas P. Casey of Lambertville, Linda and William C. Losch Jr. of Glen Allen, Va., and Barbara and Philip Robbins of Orange Park, Fla.; three sisters, Mary Radeer, Kathryn Toth and Julia Wintermute, all of Lambertville; six grandchildren, Patrick Casey, Michael Casey, Lori Ashton, Lisa Robbins, B.J. Losch and Brian Losch; five great-grandchildren, Meghan Casey, Brigid Casey, Brian Losch Jr., Mary Margaret Losch and Jeb Losch; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Saturday from the Garefino Funeral Home, Lambertville. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at the church. Burial followed in Holcombe-Riverview Cemetery in Delaware Township.

LAMBERTVILLE Tony Carotenuto, 66, died Friday, April 8, at the Neshaminy Manor Nursing Home in Warrington, Pa.
Born in Ambler, Pa., Mr. Carotenuto had lived in Lambertville since 1990.
He was a member of the Toscanni American Legion Post 120, the Lambertville Elks Lodge 1070 and the Young Men’s Athletic Club, all in Lambertville.
He worked as a house painter for various contractors in the Lambertville area for many years. For the past three years, he was self-employed.
He was the son of the late Anthony R. and Betty Rooney Carotenuto and father of the late Joseph and Jeffrey Carotenuto.
Surviving are a daughter, Debra Szalontay of Richboro, Pa.; three sons, James Carotenuto of Quakertown, Pa., Scott Carotenuto of Newtown, Pa., and Brian Carotenuto of Lambertville; one brother, Harry Carotenuto of California; and seven grandchildren, Brian, Joshua, Jessica, Nicholas, Elissa, Taylor and Kyle.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Garefino Funeral Home, Lambertville. Burial will follow Saturday, April 16, at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church Cemetery in Lambertville.
The Elks conducted services Monday evening.

HAZLETON, Pa. Paul Brindock, 80, died Friday, April 8, at home from prostate cancer.
Born in Ebervale, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna Holenda Brindock.
He was a member of St. John’s B.C. Church.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy with the rank of coxswain in the European Theater of War.
He was a member and past commander of the Freeland VFW, a member and past commander of the Hightstown VFW and a member of the Hazleton American Legion.
Prior to retiring, he was employed with McGraw-Hill.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Anna Yemola, Peter, Nicholas, Michael, John in World War II, Joseph and Mary Golden.
Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Gombeda Brindock; two daughters and sons-in-law, Colleen and Michael Bognet of Wapwallopen, Pa., and Karen and Lonie Baldino of Lambertville; a sister, Helen Feschuk of Hazleton; two grandchildren, Judy and Rachael Bognet; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc., Hazleton. A divine liturgy with Office of Christian Burial was held at the church.
Entombment was in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
