CLINTON, N.Y. A. Jane Guenther, formerly of Hillsborough, died April 8 at St. Luke’s Home in Utica, N.Y. She was 81.
She was born in Mooers, N.Y.
Mrs. Guenther served as a WAC in World War II and remained an active member of the Women’s Army Corps Veterans Association in the Penn-Jersey Chapter 74. Volunteering her time at the veteran’s home in Lyons.
She was a talented artist.
She bowled with the Wednesday morning Morning Glories and was a member of the Neshanic Garden Club.
She spent over 10 years volunteering at Somerset Medical Center and driving for the American Cancer society.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, South Branch Road, Hillsborough and remained so after her move to New York in 2000.
Her husband, Paul B. Guenther; two brothers, Robert Bosworth and Ernest Bosworth; and a sister, Madeline Chase, are deceased.
Surviving are a daughter, Lynne Gates of Utica; a son, Robert Paul of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. April 21 at Faith Lutheran Church, Hillsborough. Burial will be in Somerset Hillsborough Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.
