Residents say they’re upset "about the quality and timeliness" of developer’s work.

About a dozen residents of Beazer Homes’ Wellington Manor development brought a petition complaining about Beazer to Monday night’s Hopewell Township Committee meeting.
In the petition, which had 24 signatures, the residents asked the township to lean on Beazer to get work on drainage and other areas done more expeditiously.
The committee said it would turn the matter over to Township Engineer Paul Pogorzelski.
Located off Pennington-Lawrenceville Road near Blackwell Road in the southeastern section of the township, Wellington Manor will have 115 homes when complete. About 60 have been built so far, said Morton Rosenthal, spokesman for the group who attended the meeting.
Mr. Rosenthal said the residents were upset "about the quality and timeliness of Beazer’s work. Almost everyone has a drainage problem," he said. Other residents said there also are problems with landscaping, outdoor lighting and the heating of their units.
"We’re aware there are issues at that development and have been meeting with the residents about them. We’re working diligently to address those items. We’ll address every one of them. We’ll take care of them all, one at a time," Paul Schneier, president of Beazer’s New Jersey and Pennsylvania operations, said Tuesday.
As is routine with any developer’s project, a performance bond posted by Beazer will be held by the township until officials are satisfied that all work the developer is legally required to do has been completed in a satisfactory manner. That work routinely includes such areas as drainage, lighting all the areas raised by the residents Monday.
ALSO at Monday night’s meeting, the committee acknowledged the retirement of State Ranger William Emery, who has worked at Washington Crossing Park for 34 years. The park is in the western section of the township.
