Domenic Pirone of Princeton died Friday at University Medical Center at Princeton. He was 76.
Born in Pettoranello Di Molise, Italy, Mr. Pirone was the owner and operator of Domenic Pirone Landscaping in Princeton.
He was a parishioner of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Princeton, a member of the Princeton Italian-American Sportsman Club, a member of the Societa Roma Eterna and the Pettoranello Garden Club.
Son of the late Federico and Angela Pirone, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann Pirone; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Susanne Pirone of Chevy Chase, Md.; daughter Dana Pirone Garrity of Newtown Square, Pa; sister Enrichetta Pirone Rossi of Pettoranello, Italy; grandchildren Katherine, Julianne, Caroline and Peter; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is scheduled for 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave., Princeton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. in St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton.
Burial will follow at Princeton Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorial service set
A memorial service for Paul K. Weimer of Princeton, who died Jan. 6, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Niles Chapel of Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau St., Princeton.
Mr. Weimer was a contributor to the development of television technology at the RCA David Sarnoff Research Center. He was 90.
Ruth M. Macdonald

RUMSON Ruth Moran Macdonald died April 10 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, from complications of treatment for lung cancer. She was 86.
Born and raised in Union City, she graduated in 1936 with highest honors from St. Michael’s High School and with highest honors from St. Elizabeth College, Convent Station, with a degree in mathematics.
She taught religion, algebra and history at St. Michael’s High School, and following her marriage in 1943, she received a degree in engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology. She then worked for the Department of Defense and the Equitable Life Insurance Co.
Following the birth of her first child in 1947, she became a homemaker.
She was a member of the Rumson Country Club, Monmouth Beach Club and the American Association of University Women. She was an expert contract bridge player.
Wife of the late Donald A. Macdonald, former vice chairman of the board of Dow Jones & Co. and a former member of the board of The Princeton Packet Inc., she is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Ronald and Jeanne Macdonald of Monmouth Beach and New York City and their children, Keith and Ruth, Dr. Donald and Florence Macdonald of Rumson and their children, Donald, Alexandra, Margaret and Ian, and Charles and Catharine Macdonald of Princeton, and their children, Anne and Robert; daughters and sons-in-law Drs. Martha and Richard Re of Metairie, La., and their children, Richard, Christopher and Gregory, and Kelley and R. Thomas Martell of San Leandro, Calif., and their son, R. Thomas Jr.

Thelma Hendel
Daughter lives in Princeton
ROCKLEIGH Thelma Hendel died Saturday. She was 82.
She was a resident of the Jewish Home at Rockleigh.
Born in Manhattan, N.Y., she graduated from Evander Childs High School, the Bronx, N.Y., and received a bachelor’s degree from Hunter College in 1944.
Mrs. Hendel was a longtime resident of New Milford and later Fort Lee and West Palm Beach, Fla.
She and her husband were active in the New Milford Jewish Center and Edgewood Country Club for many years. Together, they enjoyed travel, tennis and golf.
Daughter of the late Ruth Frank Glick and Samuel Glick, wife of the late Murray Hendel, sister of the late Reba Glick, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law Paula and Jeffrey Ross of Princeton; son and daughter-in-law Steven and Lisa Hendel; sister and brother-in-law Gloria and Raymond Ehrlich; brother Jack Glick; and grandchildren Dylan and Gena Ross, Samantha, Robyn and Melanie Hendel.
Arrangements were by Robert Schoem’s Menorah Chapel, Paramus.
Anne C. Healey

FREDERICK, Md. Anne Carey Healey died Saturday. She was 91.
Born in East Newark, she was a longtime resident of Kearny, where her husband was mayor from 1950 to 1970.
She was active in a variety of political, civic and religious organizations. In the 1960s, she led the fund drive to build a headquarters building for the West Hudson Girl Scout Council and remained active in Girl Scout activities for many years. She received several honors from the Girl Scouts, including the Thanks Badge.
She was a member of the parish council and the Rosary Altar Society of St. Cecilia’s Church in Kearny. Also, she was a member of the St. Thomas a Kempis Society of New Jersey. Long active in efforts to bring together people of different faiths in Kearny, she was named Woman of the Year by the West Hudson Chapter of Hadassah in 1964.
She was elected as a Democratic county committeewoman from Kearny’s Second Ward and also was a member of the Taantaqua Club and the Woodrow Wilson Second Ward Democratic Club in Kearny. She headed the Rodino Auxiliary during the first campaign of U.S. Rep. Peter Rodino in 1948.
Mrs. Healey also attended and played a role in the annual meetings of the New Jersey League of Municipalities, the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the National League of Cities.
Wife of the late Joseph M. Healey, mother of the late Joseph M. "Jay" Healey, sister of the late Mary Zabriskie and Thomas and John Carey, she is survived by daughter Dr. Maryanne Farrell of Frederick; son Thomas of Plainsboro; sister Frances Carey of Frederick; grandchildren Carey Anne, Kevin and Liam Farrell, and Connor and Lauren Healey.
The funeral is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Condon Funeral Home, 684 Kearny Ave., Kearny, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Cecilia’s Church, Kearny.
Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
Visiting hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Lenora Schwartz
Husband active in area charity
RICHBORO, Pa. Lenora Schwartz died April 18 at home. She was 59.
She grew up in South Philadelphia and graduated from Philadelphia High School for Girls and the School of Nursing at Thomas Jefferson University, where she later assumed a teaching position.
Following her marriage, she earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing education at Temple University and after the birth of their second son she moved to Newtown, Pa., and did part-time private duty nursing and became the evening shift supervisor at Chandler Hall Nursing Home. The family later moved to Richboro.
She worked as a school nurse briefly at the Pennsbury School District and for 22 years at the Council Rock School District.
She is survived by her husband, Allen, past president of the Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Greater Mercer County; sons and daughter-in-law Gary Schwartz and Eric and Lorena Schwartz.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Endowment Fund at VITA Educational Services, Doylestown; Special Consultant Fund at Jewish Family and Children’s Service in Princeton; the Bev Spiegler Special Education Fund at Shir Ami in Newtown; or the charity of the donor’s choice.
