School budget passes; second question fails

   Hillsborough voters approved the proposed general school budget, but turned down a second question to pay for computers and new athletic programs.
   The $93.8 million budget was passed by a vote of 1,853 – 1,693. The second question, seeking $261,416 was turned down by a vote of 1,957 to 1,574.
   Voters also returned a slate of incumbent school board members to three-year terms, with Neil Hudes receiving 2,096 votes, David Kanaby receiving 1,959 and Wolf Schneider picking up 1,753.
   Challenger Michael Detsis received 1,604 votes.
   Voter turnout topped 15 percent, with 3,546 ballots cast.
