DELAWARE Gloria Blasenheim, 79, of Delaware Township died Saturday, April 16.
Born in the Bronx, Mrs. Blasenheim lived in Putnam Valley, Spring Valley and Monticello, N.Y., before coming to the Lambertville-New Hope area 25 years ago.
In 1977, Mrs. Blasenheim and her daughters, Laura and Joanne, established a women’s clothing company, Designing Women, designing, manufacturing and merchandising their own clothing line. They opened their boutique in New Hope and later in Lambertville.
Mrs. Blasenheim also worked with her late husband, Paul Blasenheim, a chef, and co-managed his restaurants, Chef Paul’s in Lambertville and Paul’s Potpourri in Monticello.
Mr. Blasenheim died in September after 59 years of marriage.
Mrs. Blasenheim was the daughter of the late Harry and Rose Resnick Katz and sister of the late Muriel Vasilew.
She is survived by four daughters, Laura and Joanne Blasenheim of Stockton, Lois Blasenheim and her partner, Dennis Skinner, of London and Beth Lurie of Brooks, Maine; her former son-in-law, Steve Lurie of Brooks; two grandsons, Max and Alex Lurie of Brooks; a sister, Shirley Blasenheim of Wellington, Fla.; a brother, Martin Katz of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Sunday at the Rose Hill-King David Cemetery, Putnam Valley, N.Y.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Van Horn-McDonough Funeral Home, Lambertville.
