Edward Schaefer

   HILLSBOROUGH — Edward L. Schaefer died April 17 in Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township. He was 90.
   Born in Newark, he lived in Hillsborough for 61 years, and previously in Neshanic Station.
   Mr. Schaefer was a self-employed farmer and owner and trainer of racehorses. He was a member of the Horseman’s Benevolent Association of Pennsylvania.
   A son, Edward L. Schaefer Jr., died in 1960.
   Surviving are his wife, Pauline E. (Fiset) Schaefer; a daughter, Bunny Hall of Clover Hill; a son, James E. of Summit; a brother, Karl of Cookstown; four sisters, Bertha Wharton of Fairlawn, Emma Kough of Columbia, Olga Polhemus of Bridgewater and Dorothy Norris of Columbia; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held April 20 from Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home in Flemington, followed by interment in Three Bridges Cemetery in Three Bridges.
