"If you can spare a couple of hours a week or even a few hours every month you could make a difference in someone else’s life and enrich your own in the process," said a Morris Hall volunteer.
"No doubt about it, we have fun together," said Jackie Randelman, one of the volunteers who oversees the Saints Corner Boutique at Morris Hall, Lawrenceville. She is looking for a few volunteers to assist her in the gift shop of the nursing home and residential care facility. The boutique is open Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and often on weekends. Volunteers can work in two- or three-hour shifts or even as substitutes.
The gift shop sells candy, toiletries, greeting cards, jewelry, and a variety of small gifts. " Every penny we earn goes directly to benefit the residents," said Ms. Randelman. Gift shop profits have gone to host holiday parties and a casino day, and purchase outdoor patio furniture, potted plants and flowers.
