Frank Moscarello
Mr. Moscarello, 87, of Old Bridge, formerly of Sayreville, died April 12 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. He served as Old Bridge fire marshal for 16 years prior to retiring in 1986. Surviving are his wife, Rosalie; two daughters, Rosalie Mantle of Old Bridge and Frances Mantle of Brick; two sisters, Anna Moscariello and Rose Angrisani, both of Newark; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
Pearl B. Cohan Hicks
Mrs. Hicks, 82, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died April 18 in Haven Hospice at JFK, Edison. Prior to her retirement in 1980, she was employed as a clerk with Taft Cleaners, Old Bridge, where she worked for 15 years. Her husband, Theodore P. Hicks, died in 1992. Surviving are two daughters, Cherril Sabo and Diane Koneski, both of Sayreville; and five grandchildren. A service is planned for 9:30 a.m. on April 21 at Messiah Lutheran Church, Parlin. Entombment will follow in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
Thomas P. Gunnell
Mr. Gunnell, 59, of Aberdeen, died April 12 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was an engineer at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown. Prior to that, he was employed for 17 years at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Dean Gunnell; three daughters, Bonnie Seaboldt of Union Beach, Tammy Gunnell of Matawan and Haley Gunnell of the Parlin section of Sayreville; a sister, Mary Wombough; and three grandsons. A memorial service was held at First Baptist Church, Matawan. Entombment was in Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
Frank L. English
Mr. English, 70, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, died April 13 in JFK Medical Center, Edison. He was employed by S&H Green Stamps, Edison, for 25 years. For the past six years, he was employed by the borough of Sayreville as a school-crossing guard at Wilson School. Surviving are his wife, Betty Sullivan English; two daughters, Dorothy English and Betty Ann Verner, both of Parlin; three brothers, Michael, Thomas and Russell English; and three granddaughters. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment was in New Calvary Cemetery, Sayreville.
Francine Petti Cerami
Mrs. Cerami, 53, of Sayreville, died April 12 at home. She was predeceased by her father, Frank Petti, and by a sister, Lucille Bonavico. Surviving are her husband, Frank M. Cerami; a daughter, Tara Cerami, and a son, Frank Cerami, both of Sayreville; two grandchildren; and her mother, Antoinette Colasanti of Sayreville. Gloria Travinski Dehnz
Mrs. Dehnz, 75, of Sayreville, died April 16 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Jess H. Dehnz, died in 1994. Surviving are three sons, Jess Dehnz Jr., of Sayreville, Paul Dehnz of Jackson and Mark Dehnz of Largo, Fla.; two daughters, Gail Scharber of North Hanover and Lynn Pizzi of Sayreville; and five grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Sacred Heart Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Parlin section of Sayreville.
Sondra R. Luper
Mrs. Luper, 62, of the Parlin section of Old Bridge, died April 7 at home. Her husband, William, died in 1997. Surviving are a son, Louis of Parlin; a daughter, Debra Hultmark of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen; her companion, Woodrow Mobus of Parlin; a brother, Elliott Stolowtiz of East Brunswick; and a grandson, William Christopher. Graveside services were held at Forest Green Park Cemetery, Marlboro.
Katharine K. Kocur Bestracky
Mrs. Bestracky, 92, of Old Bridge, died April 12 in St. Michael’s Medical Center, Newark. She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph Poulin; her second husband, Samuel C. Bestracky; and a son, Richard Bestracky. Surviving are a sister, Ann Kebekus of Pennsylvania; a nephew, Frank Kebekus, also of Pennsylvania; and many cousins. A Mass was offered at St. Lawrence Church, Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge. Interment was in Arlington Cemetery, Kearny.
Robert R. Ampania
Mr. Ampania, 69, of Old Bridge, died April 18 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are his wife, Rose Collins Ampania; two sons, Bob and Glen, both of Old Bridge; two daughters, Nancy and Gail Nesbitt, both of Old Bridge; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is set for 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on April 21 at Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge. A Mass is planned for 10 a.m. on April 22 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Marie Dzielinski Krasnokutsky
Mrs. Krasnokutsky, 72, of Old Bridge, died April 14 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was employed at Brodsky’s Dress Factory, South River, many years ago. Surviving are her husband, Victor; two daughters, Patty Isabelle and Victoria Denn, both of Old Bridge; an aunt, Mildred Kalaskin of South River; a brother, Alfred Dzielinski of South River; and two grandchildren. Christian A. Hogan McCaffrey
Mrs. McCaffrey, 83, of East Brunswick, died April 16 at home. She was a registered nurse for many years at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Her husband, Joseph F. McCaffrey, died in 1999, and a son, Peter, died in 1955. Surviving are five sons, Joseph F. of Skaneateles, N.Y., John of Ithaca, N.Y., Christopher of East Brunswick, Richard of Hopkinton, N.H. and Robert of Lambertville; and 10 grandchildren. Mrs. Goldman, 61, of Old Bridge, died April 5 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was a bookkeeper at Iris Software, Metuchen, for five years. Surviving are a son, Craig Goldman of the Morganville section of Marlboro; a daughter, Lorri Mendez of Old Bridge; a brother, Marvin Gimplin of East Moriches, N.Y.; a sister, Faith Davila of Spotswood; and three grandchildren. Thomas Parkinson
Mr. Parkinson, 68, of South Amboy, formerly of the Morgan section of Sayreville, died March 23 at home. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with Hercules Inc., Parlin section of Sayreville. For the past six years, he worked as a school crossing guard for the city of South Amboy. Surviving are a nephew, David Parkinson of Sayreville; a niece, Liz Bell of Arkansas; an aunt, Molly Bihr of Florida; a great-niece and two great-nephews. Alan Pogroszewski
Mr. Pogroszewski, 56, of Sayreville, died March 25 in St. Peter’s University Medical Center, New Brunswick. His mother, Jane Swiderski Pogroszewski, died in 1980. Surviving are his father, Leon Pogroszewski of Sayreville; an uncle and two aunts, Robert and Dorothy Pogroszewski of East Brunswick and Eleanor Chasan of California; and many cousins. Mr. Marsh, of Howell, died April 4 in CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Alfred Marsh. Surviving are a sister, Elaine Clarkin of Old Bridge; a niece, Kim Luczkow of Spotswood; two great nieces, Lara and Marissa of Spotswood; a great-nephew, Daniel McCoy of Barnegat; and three great-great-nieces and a great-great-nephew. Mr. Nicastro, 74, of Spotswood, died April 18 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. A former bus driver for Spotswood Senior Citizens, he served as chairman of the Spotswood Recreation Department for several years. Surviving are his wife, Marie Moramarco Nicastro; two sons, Philip Nicastro of the Toms River section of Dover and Robert Nicastro of South Brunswick; a daughter, Donna DeMato of North Brunswick; a sister, Lorraine Sutera of Spotswood; and eight grandchildren. Muriel Zarychta Sullivan
Mrs. Sullivan, 83, of East Brunswick, died April 18 in The Westfield Center. She was a former substitute teacher in the East Brunswick area. Her husband, Joseph Sullivan, died in 1994. Surviving are a son, Glenn Sullivan of Westfield; a daughter, Judy Cornwell of Nags Head, N.C.; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Visitation is set for 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on April 21 at Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick. Services are planned for 11:30 a.m. on April 22 at Conklin United Methodist Church, South River.
