Bernard Kassick Sr.

   Bernard J. Kassick Sr., 77, died Sunday at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, with his family by his side.
   Born in Tresckow, Pa., to his late parents John and Anna (Horwath) Kassick, he was raised in West Hazleton before settling in Manville 51 years ago.
   Mr. Kassick served in the United States Air Force during WWII, and was honorably discharged as an Airman 1st Class.
   For more than 37 years, Mr. Kassick was employed by Johns-Manville Corp. as a clerk. He also worked for Somerset County in the Recycling Department.
   Mr. Kassick was a communicant of Christ the King Church in Manville.
   Mr. Kassick was a member of the Civil Defense and was a special police officer in Manville. He was a member of the Thomas J. Kavanaugh VFW Post #2290.
   Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his dear siblings Eleanor Pogar, John and Joseph Kassick.
   Surviving Mr. Kassick is his wife of 53 years, Agnes T. (Borhi) Kassick; children, Margaret Archer of Northampton, Pa., Bernard Kassick Jr. and Stephen J. and wife Sandra (Apfel) Kassick, all of Manville; sisters Martha Santilli of Manville, Marie Swett, Rita Liene and Alice Buehler, all of Hazleton, Pa.; brothers Al Kassick of Claremore, Okla., Edward Kassick of Cape May, Michael Kassick of Manville, and Richard Kassick of Millstone; grandchildren Justine Kassick, Crystal, Dylan and Bruce Archer 2nd, and many nieces and nephews.
   A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday (April 28) at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 So. Main St., Manville, NJ 08835. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time.
