HILLSBOROUGH Lillian Stella Walenczyk died Friday in Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. She was 80.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved to Hillsborough 52 years ago.
Mrs. Walenczyk was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Hillsborough, and a member of their Rosary Society.
She was a member of the Hillsborough Township Vol. Fire Co. No. 2 Ladies Auxiliary, the Hillsborough VFW Post 8371 auxiliary and the Hillsborough Senior Citizens Chapter A.
Her husband, Ted Walenczyk; her son, Michael Walenczyk; and her brother, Casmere; are deceased.
Surviving are two daughters, Christine M. Hnidj of Branchburg and Diane Carmichael of Tempe, Arizona; one nephew; and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held April 27 from Hillsborough Funeral Home in Hillsborough, followed by a Mass in St. Joseph’s Church. Burial was in Neshanic Cemetery in Hillsborough.
