NORTH BRUNSWICK — Police have charged a suspect for an armed robbery at Town Center Drive April 11.
Kevin Purnell of Somerset was arrested by the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department in family court on a warrant from North Brunswick on April 20, according to police reports.
“We have a positive identification from the victim,” said North Brunswick police Lt. Roger Reinson.
Purnell was processed at police headquarters and lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center, according to reports. Bail was set at $250,000 according to Reinson.
At approximately 4:25 p.m. on April 11, an 18-year-old white male was approached by two black males when he exited his vehicle. He said he had no money and a scuffle ensued.
The victim was punched in the head several times but was able to break free. A black revolver was shown, but no shots were fired, according to Reinson.
