To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Rotary International in 1905, the Rotary Club of Princeton has funded and built four dugout shelters in Grover Park, behind the Princeton Shopping Center in Princeton Township.
Celebrating the completion of this project, Princeton Rotarians and their guests enjoyed a picnic luncheon in the park last Sunday. Frieda Applegate, Rotary International District 7510’s governor, cut the ribbon. Also participating were Princeton Township Mayor Phyllis Marchand and Princeton Borough Mayor Joseph O’Neill.
Chartered in 1942, the Rotary Club of Princeton is an organization composed of business and professional men and women who subscribe to Rotary’s motto, "Service Above Self." Through their volunteer work, community outreach, financial contributions and fund-raising events, Princeton Rotarians support charitable, educational and humanitarian efforts at a local, national and international level.
