Add your heart — and wallet — to Relay for Life

By: Mae Rhine
Most people have been touched by cancer in some way — a friend, family member or co-worker.
The toll it takes is devastating. That’s why it’s so important to keep on fighting.
One way to wage the battle is through the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life, set for May 20-22 in southern Hunterdon County at South Hunterdon Regional High School. You can have a team yourself or sponsor an already existing one.
You can’t help but be moved as you listen to the stories of cancer survivors, then watch them take the first lap around the field to raise money for the society. They have beaten incredible odds to be there.
Show your support. Call co-chairperson Kelly Godown at 397-8892 or last year’s organizer, Norma Zimmerman, at 397-8892 to see how best you can help the cause.
Last year, the relay raised $62,000. This year, add your voice, heart — and wallet.
